Dear Lord

I pray that You give me the wisdom to guide me on this faith journey of

stewardship.

Help me to understand that everything I have is a gift from You.

Open my heart and my mind so that I may use these Marvelous

gifts to give back to You here on Earth.

I pray Lord that You welcome me into Your kingdom at the end of my life

and that You are pleased with what I have done with all Your gifts.

Amen.

Our Masses have resumed and we are so thank-ful to be able to gather and worship! There is no age re-striction on attending Mass, only that you are in good health and not high risk. In keeping with the 6-foot social distancing guidelines, the maximum number of people allowed in the church is 125. For weekend Masses, we will offer 125 color coded tickets per Mass which will be availa-ble 8-6pm M-F from the ramp door entrance of church. If these pickup times do not work for you, call the Parish Office. Please pick up one ticket for each person in your household. You must have your ticket to be able to at-tend Mass.

We have combined the guidelines set by the State of Kentucky and our Diocese for those who choose to attend the Liturgy in person. It is the Church’s responsi-bility to protect every member as best we can and these guidelines are created out of love and respect for each of you. All attendees are required to wear masks with the

exception of children 3 years old and younger. If you are not comfortable, or children are not mature enough to wear a mask for the entire liturgy, you should continue to worship from home. We ask that you bring your own mask. If you do not have one, we will have one available for you outside of church.

Please use the side ramp door to enter the church and the front doors to exit.

Families are to be seated in the spaces marked throughout the sanctuary. Only every other pew will be utilized. The short pews on the sides will allow 2 peo-ple from the same household. Hospitality Ministers will help in guiding families to the appropriate seats which will be marked with a placard.

The cry room is not open for gathering. However, the restroom is available if needed. Only one person (unless family) is allowed in the cry room/restroom at a time. Others should wait outside the cry room door and maintain 6 feet between one another.

Because singing causes us to project our voices and therefore can propel the virus, the congregation is asked to refrain from singing. And to reduce risk, we will not use worship guides for the time being.

During the Our Father and Sign of Peace, please do not hold or shake hands with anyone outside of your family.

For the communion procession, a hospitality minister will dismiss one row at a time. Parishioners are asked to keep 6 feet between the person in front of you and keep your mask on until the person in front of you receives the Eucharist. After consuming the Eucharist, replace your mask over your face and you may sani-tize your hands before returning to your seat. Com-munion will be administered in the hands only.

For dismissal after church, hospitality ministers will dismiss each row beginning with the back of the church. Most everyone will be encouraged to exit through the front doors. However, those who need to use the side entrance will be able to use the ramp.

Are you interested in taking communion to those in your home who cannot attend Mass in person? Call the Parish Office at 270-683-5641 to sign up for train-ing.

Guidelines for attending Mass. “Come see a man who told me everything I have done.

Could he possibly be the Christ?”

Imagine an encounter with some-one “who told me everything I have done.” That would be very impressive but could also be embarrassing and uncomfort-able. We all have things in our life we would rather be kept secret. The Samaritan wom-an was at the well at noon to get her daily ration of water. Other women probably went to the well early in the morning. Jesus would have understood that she was trying to avoid the other women who gossiped about her because she had five husbands, and was not married to the man she was with. Jesus did not avoid or reject her. In-stead, he ask her for a drink and offers her the waters of eternal life. He ask nothing of her but true sorrow for the sin in her life. God knows the sin in our life and ask only that we acknowledge and sincerely seek to avoid that sin in the future. That is how we are stewards of all the good God has given us.

Haiti - Seventh Graders When Sts. Joseph & Paul Parish joined St. Joseph Parish in Lalomas, Haiti, in the mission of educating their children, the kindergarteners HID from us. They feared the “blon” (Caucasian) missionaries. We were different. Our skin was different, as was our language. Today, because of you, those kindergartners are in the 7th grade. Many would never have made it to the 7th grade if it were not for your care and your giving. As both parishes pre-pare for the risen Jesus, please keep them in your prayers. Families continue to struggle with hunger and disease on the mountain. This Lent, please consider donating to the Haiti Educa-

tion Fund. Education can break the chain of poverty.

Word of Life

“[The Gospel of Life] is therefore meant to be a precise and vigorous reaffirmation of the value of human life and its inviolability, and at the same time a pressing appeal addressed to each and every person, in the name of God: respect, protect, love and serve life, every human life! Only in this direction will you find justice, development, true freedom, peace and happi-ness!” (The Gospel of Life 5)

An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacra-ment. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramental-ly, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit

me to be separated from You. Amen.
