The RAM’s 2012 World Money Fair

Mint Set!

Living up to its reputation as the most important numismatic festival on the planet, the 41st World Money Fair was held in Berlin at the end of January and was, as anticipated, yet another smashing success. Indeed, the 41st World Money Fair proved to be the biggest ever!

A magnet for the most important elements of the numismatic industry, the World Money Fair was, as always, attended by an astonishing array of mints, issuing authorities, dealers and, of course, collectors. Taking up more than 7,000 square metres of Europe’s largest convention hotel, the 41st World Money Fair attracted more than 300 exhibitors, with so many in attendance that show booths had to be set up in the convention foyer, with the ticket booth needing to be relocated to the neighbouring hotel!

Overflowing with an extremely diverse array of material – from the coins of antiquity to the latest, most innovative modern issues – the 41st World Money Fair naturally attracted huge crowds, with a record-breaking 15,000+ visitors!

In part, the enormous queues of eager collectors on each of the three days of the event were due to the variety of extremely exclusive World Money Fair special editions. WMF Mint Sets were the subject of especially strong demand, with

those issued by Monnaie de Paris, the Royal Spanish Mint and the Royal Dutch Mint sold out within hours of release.

Notwithstanding the cost and effort involved, Downies was once again in attendance at this numismatic extravaganza. Not only part of our commitment to take Australian numismatics onto the global stage, we see our presence at such events as crucial in providing our clients access to some of the most exclusive, most exciting issues in international collecting – such as the highly desirable Australian Show Products found on these pages.

Obtaining a very limited number of both the RAM’s 2012 WMF Mint Set and the Perth Mint’s 2012 $1 WMF Black Dragon 1oz Silver BU due to our presence at the Fair, an immediate order is essential.

Continuing a grand tradition, the Royal Australian Mint once again released a super-exclusive Australian Mint Set especially for the World Money Fair. As with the Dutch, French and Spanish WMF Mint Sets, demand for the RAM’s 2012 WMF Mint Set was overwhelming and, as a result, this set is ONLY AVAILABLE AT DOWNIES! No other dealer, or even the RAM, has ANY stock to be able to offer!

Undoubtedly one of the driving forces behind the explosive demand, this prestigious 6-coin (5c-$2) WMF Mint Set is headlined by the RAM’s sensational

full-colour 2012 50c. Not only notable for the inclusion of this groundbreaking coin, the 2012 WMF Mint Set is also distinguished by utterly unique World Money Fair presentation packaging! Instantly marking the set out as part of this exclusive limited edition, this collection features a unique 2012 World Money Fair outer sleeve – completely different to the sleeve of the RAM’s standard 2012 Mint Set!

Obviously of particular interest to the many people seeking the most exclusive Australian numismatic issues, with only 1,500 sets released, this official Aussie Show Product is a must-have for

anyone lucky enough to own any of its sought after predecessors – all of which are virtually impossible to find and rising in value. Issued at A$25, the 2006 set is now worth about A$200, with the 2007 and 2008 sets valued at around A$120 apiece.

Well aware that many of our clients would be desperate to acquire this extremely exclusive Australian Mint Set, we fought tooth and nail to obtain as many as possible whilst at the show. Although we know that our meagre stock will never be enough to sate the appetite of a ravenous collector market, we are proud to be the ONLY numismatic outlet in

Hooked on full-colour coins?

First High Relief Lunar coin!

A massive 50% thicker than a normal 1oz silver coin, and defined by breathtaking depth and detail in the design, Australia’s first ever High Relief Silver Proof Lunar coin is guaranteed to be one of the hottest issues of 2012.

A glorious example of the Mint’s precious metal expertise, the 2012 $1 Dragon High Relief 1oz Silver Proof represents Australian numismatics at its best. Measuring 32.60mm, and a chunky 6mm in width, the extra thick 1oz flan has been struck on concave surfaces

Bringing Australia’s exotic marine environment to life, the Perth Mint’s Sea Life II Series has proved predictably popular with collectors across the globe. For those eagerly anticipating the next instalment of this eye-catching Australian legal tender program, we have great news. The fourth coin in the series is now available! And what a coin it is!

Whilst sure to be hunted down by the many people seeking to amass the complete Sea Life II set, the 2012 50c Octopus 1/2oz

to ensure that the optimum flow of pure .999 silver is achieved by the strike of the die. The result is sensational. The Perth Mint’s spellbinding Dragon design looks superb under any circumstances, but struck to this exquisite level of quality, it will take your breath away. Standing out prominently from the background field, the Elizabeth II portrait on the obverse of this official Australian legal tender coin looks equally spectacular.

Given the awe-inspiring quality of the coin, and the huge demand

Silver Proof is a stand-alone release of great beauty, exquisite quality and strictly limited availability. Capturing the splendour of this unusual Aussie reef inhabitant, the Mint has produced a spectacularly realistic portrayal of the octopus. Testimony to the unparalleled skill of Australia’s precious metal specialists, the sharply struck, frosted designs and brilliant mirrored field form a superb contrast to the vibrant red hues of the octopus.

A fine catch for any full-colour coin collector,

for all Year of the Dragon releases, it is somewhat of a shock that the Mint has restricted the mintage of Australia’s first High Relief Lunar Silver Proof to a mere 7,500. Already over-subscribed at the Mint and thus assuring a speedy sell-out, don’t miss the chance to secure your piece of Aussie numismatic history at the Mint’s surprisingly low Official Issue Price!

New Zealand’s 2012 Silver Proof Set!

JUST 1,000 SETS ISSUED WORLDWIDE!Capturing the proud heritage and unique culture of the Land of the Long White Cloud in precious metal, New Zealand’s 2012 Silver Proof Set is defined by flawless quality, impeccable .999 purity, superb presentation and extremely limited availability. Indeed, a mere 1,000 sets have been issued worldwide!

An inspiring collector release, and a must-have for anyone interested in the new Silver Proof Sets from Australia and Canada, this exceptional collection comprises five legal tender coins struck by the Royal Dutch Mint. Like its sought after

predecessor, released to universal acclaim in 2011, the 2012 Silver Proof Set incorporates the 10c, 20c, 50c, $1

and $2 – each struck to the pinnacle of Proof quality from pure .999 silver. Unlike its predecessor, this stunning presentation also features the 10c finished in pure gold!

A fine setting for what is arguably New Zealand’s most prestigious annual numismatic issue, the five .999 silver coins are beautifully presented within the plush

confines of an official, attractive glossy black case, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. That Certificate of Authenticity confirms the astonishingly low mintage of this important presentation – a mintage restricted to just 1,000 sets!

The designs of New Zealand’s distinctive,

richly historic circulating coinage look utterly sensational when struck from .999 fine silver, and demand for this set is naturally expected to be very strong. With Downies securing only a tiny allocation from the mintage of 1,000, the need for an early order is clear.

Each coin is struck from .999 fine silver, with the 10c finished in GOLD!

THE TREASURES OF NEW ZEALAND…

An impressive, official legal tender program, issued to celebrate both the world-famous Kiwi

and an array of New Zealand’s

most iconic natural riches, we still have a few examples left of the first issue of the Treasures of New Zealand Silver Series.

Proving just as popular

as its sought after predecessor, the Icons of New Zealand Series, the first issue of the Treasures of New Zealand Series features two superbly struck silver crowns. Available in either Proof or Brilliant Uncirculated quality, the broad 40mm diameter flan of each coin carries a striking design, uniting the legendary kiwi with the

spectacular kowhai – widely regarded as New Zealand’s national flower.

Struck from 1oz of .999 fine silver, and beautifully presented in official packaging with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, the BU $1 has a mintage of 13,500, with a mere 5,000 examples of the Proof $1 issued worldwide.

One of the world’s rarest Proof Set issues, to be enjoyed by the privileged few, the mintage of this crucial annual release has been restricted to a crazy 1,500!

Whilst the chance to be one of only 1,500 people to own this exclusive, official legal tender coin set is appealing in its own right, this impressive collection is notable for much more than the limited availability.

Sure to command the attention of anyone with an appreciation for the finest in collector coinage, the coins found in New Zealand’s 2012 Proof Set literally sparkle with quality. Headlined by the one-year-only 38.70mm .999 silver Fairy Tern $5 crown, each set also includes the 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 and $2 – all struck to the most meticulous Proof standards.

A presentation befitting this key annual issue, New Zealand’s five circulating denominations and the 38.70mm .999 silver $5 are set in an official leatherette case, accompanied by a numbered

‘The 1930 Penny of Australian philatelics…’

One of the world’s greatest feats of engineering when finished in 1932, the Sydney Harbour Bridge represented the achievement of a long held ambition.

It was in 1815 that Francis Greenway first suggested to Governor Macquarie that a bridge should be built linking the north and south of Sydney Harbour, but little was done for many decades. With all submissions for the construction of a bridge rejected in 1900, the idea lost impetus, being revived only after WWI. In 1922, plans were approved and Dorman Long & Co won the contract to build the new bridge.

Taking 1,400 men eight years to complete, the world’s largest steel arch bridge was finally opened in March 1932 – amid enormous controversy. Before NSW Premier Jack Lang was able to officially open the gigantic new structure, Captain Francis de Groot, member of one of the many extremist organisations that sprang up during the Great Depression, rode up on his horse and slashed the ribbon with his sword!

Thus it was, in such dramatic circumstances that Sydneysiders finally enjoyed a much-needed avenue across the harbour. As the figures below indicate, it was surely a much different construction than envisaged by Francis Greenway in 1815.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge in numbers…

80 – the number of years since officially opened on 19 March 1932

£4.2m – the cost of the construction

Six million & 53,000 – hand-driven rivets and tonnes of steel used in construction

134m & 1,149m – the height and total length of the bridge

122,000 – the cubic metres of rock excavated for the foundations

272,000 – the litres of paint required for the initial three coats!

11,000 & 160,000 – the average daily traffic in 1932 and today

Like the 1930 Penny, an iconic rarity spawned by the Great Depression, the 1932 Sydney Harbour Bridge 5/- is one of the most desirable issues in Australian stamp collecting. A sensational opportunity for just a few of our clients, we have this crucial philatelic rarity available in pristine Mint Unhinged and strong Very Fine Used!

Among Australia’s earliest philatelic commemoratives, the 5/-, 2d and 3d Sydney Harbour Bridge stamps were launched in 1932 to

mark the completion of Australia’s great architectural triumph. Importantly, the high denomination 1932 5/- was issued in tiny numbers. Indeed, compared to the 2d, of which 9,749,680 were printed, the 5/- had a print-run of a mere 72,500! With so few printed, and eight decades having passed since issue, it is no surprise that this iconic Australian stamp is rare in any grade – and exceedingly rare in MUH condition. With few people able to set aside the high denomination 5/- during the economic misery of the 1930s,

this key stamp is seldom seen in the perfect, unused condition presented here.

An authentic keepsake of the construction of Australia’s great landmark, do not miss this rare opportunity to own one of Australia’s primary philatelic icons!

One of the most sought after series in Australian philatelics, the George V 1927-36 Commemorative Stamp Collection is rarely available as a complete set – as here.

A valuable piece of Australian history, featuring many scarce and rare types, this collection comprises an example of every

commemorative stamp from 1927 to 1936. Featuring some of the most sought after, most valuable Australian philatelic issues, the set includes stamps honouring Aussie icons Kingsford Smith and Charles Sturt, Australia’s only predecimal minisheet PLUS the rare Sydney Harbour Bridge 5/-!

Housed in an informative album in a slipcase, this prestigious 32-stamp set is seldom seen on the market in this comprehensive format. After months of painstaking sorting and careful construction, however, we have been able to assemble three Mint Unhinged collections and six in Fine Used.

A bridge to the past…A wonderful opportunity to travel back to the time of the building and launch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, we are delighted to present the 1911-36 Threepence & Sixpence Collection. Comprising every 3d and 6d date issued during the reign of

King George V, this important presentation is both historically fascinating and, given the inclusion of many rare and scarce dates, surprisingly affordable.

A sought after element of Australia’s first national currency system, the affordability

of the

sterling silver 3d and 6d denominations makes the coin-by-coin construction of this set a very popular collector pursuit. However, the passage of time, combined with the number lost to the melting pot – especially over the last few years due to the surge in silver prices – means that many dates are recognised as scarce to rare, regardless of the grade. With this 39-coin

threepence and sixpence collection, Downies takes care of all the hard work!

Graded Good to Very Fine, and set in protective coin pages, this crucial predecimal collection features an example of every 3d and 6d date – barring the two 3d overdates. The scarce 1912 and 1914 3d; the rare, low-mintage 1915 3d; the scarce 1923 3d; the rare 1918 6d, the scarce 1922 and 1924 6d;

the low-mintage 1935 6d…all are found in this definitive presentation.

With so many highly desirable Australian predecimal dates included, and only a small number of sets in stock, an early order would be wise.

THE PRICE OF PASSAGE…

The 1932 Florin – rare in any grade…

Excellent value at under A$20, the Sydney Harbour Bridge Toll Money Pack forms a fascinating insight into one of Australia’s greatest engineering achievements.

An authentic keepsake of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this unique presentation comprises a George V 6d and 3d – struck from 1911 to 1936 and graded Fine to VF. Reflecting the technological evolution of Australian society, these coins represent the original fee paid to cross Sydney Harbour

by horse (3d) and car (6d) after the Bridge was opened in March 1932. The toll was imposed to pay the £4m+ cost of constructing the world’s largest steel arch span bridge – a debt not cleared til 1988!

Struck during the early predecimal period and scarce today, the 1911-1936 sterling silver 6d and 3d are complete with an informative card. Dates of our choice.

In the year that the Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened, and the year that Downies was founded, the Melbourne Mint struck what would become one of Australia’s rarest, most desirable coins – the 1932 Florin. At the time of the Great Depression, Australia’s deflationary

economy required little new coinage. Indeed, no 3d or 6d coins were struck from 1929 to 1933, no 1/- were struck in 1929, 1930 or 1932, and no 2/- were struck in 1929 and 1930. Although coin production returned to some sort of normality in the aftermath of the worst days of the crisis, mintages were very low across all denominations – including the florin. Thus, in 1932, the

Melbourne Mint struck a mere 188,000 florins – the lowest mintage

of any standard florin date, and the third lowest recorded mintage of any date of any denomination from 1910 to 1964. With so few issued, and so many lost or destroyed for the silver value over the eight decades since struck, it’s no surprise that the 1932 Florin is considered one of Australia’s rarest, most desirable coins.

Missing from most collections, regardless of the grade, we are delighted to have a few examples of this iconic Depression Era

rarity in stock – graded

Very Good.

Great Battles in Australian history…Whilst the Anzac Spirit is evident across the entirety of Australia’s proud military history, the qualities of courage, mateship and self-sacrifice were in abundance at the campaigns of Tobruk (WWII), Kokoda (WWII)

and Kapyong (Korean War).

Official Australian legal tender issues, the 2011 $1 Tobruk Silver Proof, 2012 $1 Kokoda Silver Proof and 2012 $1 Kapyong 1oz Silver Proof form compelling

tributes to the brave Aussie diggers that represented the nation with such distinction during these key military engagements. Struck to Proof quality from 1oz of .999 silver, and measuring 40.60mm in

diameter, each

coin carries an authentic image of Australian soldiers at the battles of Tobruk, Kokoda and Kapyong respectively, united with an accurate, fully struck up portrayal of a digger in the appropriate military outfit.

Offered at the Perth Mint’s Official Issue Price, each coin is set in an official case, complete with a Certificate of Authenticity attesting to the mintage of 5,000.

Authentic WWI Medals!

Comprising full-size die-cast recreations of EVERY Rising Sun Badge

type used since the insignia was created for Aussie

An especially appropriate acquisition as we approach Australia’s most important day of national commemoration, Anzac Day, these genuine, official World War I Service Medals unlock the door to the true starting point of Australia’s rich military heritage.

Offering the collector an opportunity to forge an unusually personal link with the soldiers of WWI, the trio of authentic, official British Empire decorations comprises the 1914-18 War Medal, the 1914-19 Victory Medal and 1914-15 Star – complete with appropriate ribbon. Of particular

troops in 1901, this inspiring collection forms a fine tribute to one of Australia’s first national symbols. Uniting all seven different versions of the famous insignia in a handsome timber case, the set represents top value at an average price of just A$14 per replica Rising Sun Badge!

importance, the 1914-15 Star was only awarded to those serving before 31 December 1915, and was thus bestowed upon all Gallipoli veterans. Indeed, the medal became so identifiable with Australia’s Baptism of Fire that it was commonly referred to as the ‘Gallipoli Star’!

An authentic, fascinating slice of Australian history, and exceptional examples of early 20th century medallic art, these official British Empire military medals form a fine way to honour the sacrifice of those who served in the ‘war to end all wars’.

A fundamental part of Australia’s military heritage, instantly associated with the Spirit of Anzac, the Rising Sun Badge was created for the 1899-1902 Boer War – the nation’s first overseas military commitment. One of Australia’s earliest, and most important

national symbols, the iconic Rising Sun Badge is superbly recreated as a 27mm Collar Badge - set upon an informative card.

Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Japanese bombing raids throughout 1942 and 1943, this inspiring presentation from the RAM forms a poignant tribute to the bravery of Aussies on the Homefront during the darkest days of World War II.

Although the midget submarine attacks on Sydney and the air raids on Darwin are the most famous, Japan bombarded many targets on Australia’s coastlines during the early days of the conflict. A compelling reflection of a time when the threat of invasion was a very real one, this 3-coin set comprises two 20c types depicting a sentry standing on a gun turret and an air raid shelter respectively,

united with a dramatic 50c illustrating the sites bombed by the Japanese in 1942 and 1943. Sure to interest those fascinated by our rich military heritage, this set is also a must-have for traditional collectors. With the three Australian legal tender types not issued for circulation, this set is vital to those seeking to maintain a complete collection.

Housed in a RAM card created in the format of a WWII telegraph, the 2012 50c & 20c Shores Under

Siege BU 3-Coin Set is within the reach of all Australians at an Official Issue Price of just A$25.50.

Genuine and original!A poignant pathway to the past, and a must-have for collector, historian and military buff alike, this genuine, original trio of military decorations forms a tangible reminder of the commitment, courage and sacrifice of Empire forces during World War II.

Granted to qualifying Empire Forces, the British Government authorised the issue of three different medals for service during World War II – the 1939-45 War Medal, 1939-45 Star and the Defence Medal. Fully authenticated and presented with the correct ribbon, the 1939-45 War Medal was awarded to all Empire Forces serving for

a continuous 28-day period in WWII, the 1939-45 Star was awarded for 6-month operational service in a variety of theatres of war, whilst the Defence Medal was received by those engaged in non-operational service in defence of the Empire.

Guaranteed as genuine, these official WWII military decorations are astonishingly affordable. Indeed, given the history inherent in these unique military artefacts, the trio represents incredible value at A$145. Act now – limited stocks available!

The centenary of the sinking

Given the passing of many decades since issue, and the number melted for the gold value, all Australian sovereigns are generally scarce in better grade – especially those issued before WWI, when the sovereign was a genuine circulation coin. The sovereigns of 1912, however, are scarce for one very

specific reason – they were struck in the year that the Titanic met her doom.

The sovereign remains one of the most powerful symbols of the British Empire, and it is no surprise that specific dates from the sovereign series would be associated with major events in the Empire’s history. Thus, just as the sovereigns

struck in 1915

are hotly pursued in Australia due to the link with Gallipoli, the sovereigns of 1912 are the subject of unusually strong demand due to the powerful connection with the Titanic, which sank in April of that year.

With this unusually widespread demand making it difficult to secure 1912 sovereigns, the chance to own

the 1912 Sovereign Trio in gVF to gEF deserves serious consideration. A timeless, authentic reminder of this famous maritime tragedy, each trio comprises a coin from each of the Melbourne, Sydney and Perth Mints, with the set housed in a timber case with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Titanic in full-colour!Capturing the beauty, opulence and sheer size of what was then the world’s largest and most luxurious passenger steamship, the Perth Mint has just unveiled this spectacular legal tender tribute to the centenary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic.

Struck to immaculate Proof quality from a troy ounce of .999 fine silver, and restricted to a tiny mintage of just 5,000, the broad, crown-sized 40.60mm flan of this exclusive coin is graced with a brilliant full-colour design. An entirely fitting way to mark the centenary of the tragedy, the

reverse motif is a representation of one of the original Titanic posters – released by its owners, the White Star Line, amid the blaze of publicity that accompanied the construction and launch of the ‘unsinkable’ ocean liner. Issued by the Perth Mint as official Tuvalu legal tender, the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverse. The 100th anniversary of the disaster has naturally inspired a new wave of demand for all Titanic memorabilia and, given the eye-catching quality of this impressive full-colour

legal tender coin, and the low mintage of 5,000, a sell out is all but assured.

Struck by Britain’s Royal Mint…

Official British tribute

Perhaps the most poignant numismatic memorial to the world’s most well known maritime disaster, Britain’s Royal Mint has just launched this splendid coin, commemorating the loss of the RMS Titanic in April of 1912.

Struck to Proof quality, this 38.61mm 28.28g sterling silver £5

features an accurate portrayal of the luxury liner departing from Southampton on her first and final voyage. Forming a moving backdrop, the reverse also depicts a silhouette of Thane – the memorial statue erected in Belfast in 1920, carved by the designer of Queen Victoria’s Veiled Head portrait, Sir Thomas Brock. Capturing the essence of the tragedy, the ghostly

figure of Thane

suggests the fate that awaits the Titanic, and complements perfectly the depiction of the giant vessel sailing to her doom.

Beautifully presented within a plush, official Royal Mint case, complete with a Certificate of Authenticity, we have been fortunate enough to secure an allocation of this dramatic Alderney legal tender coin from the worldwide mintage of 7,500.

An official issue of Britain’s Royal Mint, this beautifully designed medallion forms a most affordable way to mark the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic. Struck to BU quality from cupro-nickel, and bearing a fine portrayal of the ill-fated ship upon

its broad, crown-sized 38.45mm flan, each Royal Mint medallion is set in an official full-colour pack. A poignant, official tribute, and top value at just A$16.95.

The perfect path to our predecimal past!A fantastic way to establish a link with the Australians of generations past, the new-look George VI and Elizabeth II Pounds, Shillings & Pence Packs represent an excellent overview of Australia’s first national currency system.

Before 1966, Australia’s

currency was based on the traditional British system – a system with origins in Ancient Roman times. Commonly known as ‘LSD’, with the acronym based on the Latin words librae, solidi and denarii, Australia’s denominations were Pounds (L), Shillings (S) and Pence (D).

Nicknamed a ‘quid’, a ‘bob’ and a ‘copper’, Australia’s £1 banknote, Ram’s Head shilling and Bounding Kangaroo penny are all represented in each of these historic collections!

No matter whether you choose the George VI Pack or Elizabeth II Pack, you will undoubtedly be impressed with the new

look of the presentation. In each case, the £1 note, silver shilling and copper penny are secured within see-both-sides, archival quality bubble, and then set in an illustrated, highly informative full-colour portfolio. Creating the perfect environment for each collection, each portfolio

features details on the history and the currency of the George VI and Elizabeth II eras respectively.

Attractive, important and fantastic value-for-money at A$99.95 and A$79.95, buy BOTH the George VI set and Elizabeth II set and SAVE A$10!

The Spirit of the Dreamtime!

Taking you back to the dark days of the WWII-era, the 1938-52 George VI Pounds, Shillings & Pence Pack unites the 1938-52 £1 note (signature combination of our choice), the 1938-52 Ram’s Head Shilling and the 1938-52 Bounding Kangaroo Penny in average circulated quality

Representing the last Australian predecimal types of their respective denominations, the Elizabeth II Pounds, Shillings & Pence Pack features the 1953-65 Coombs/Wilson £1 banknote in Fine, with the 1953-63 Ram’s Head Shilling and 1953-64 Bounding Kangaroo Penny in Very Fine to Extremely Fine.

Providing a unique insight into Australia’s ancient past, and

forming a great gift for friends and contacts overseas, the Indigenous Australia Coin & Note Portfolio is

defined by strictly Uncirculated quality,

superb presentation and outstanding value.

Capturing the Spirit of the Dreamtime within state-of-the-art currency production,

the first legal tender issue to recognise Australia’s indigenous culture was the $1 note – first seen in 1966. The second indigenous issue, the 1988 Bicentennial $10, was Australia’s first commemorative note, and the world’s first polymer note. This set features BOTH notes, united with the RAM’s 1988 Bicentennial $1, the 1988-2011 Indigenous Elder $2 and the Perth Mint’s 2005 $1 Al-Br Roo – all in Unc!

Presented in an attractive and secure environment, designed to offer long-term protection to the strictly Uncirculated quality, the three coins and two notes are set behind archival quality bubble within a beautifully designed, informative pack.

Exclusive new Vietnam War tribute!A compelling tribute to the Australian men and women who served the nation with distinction during the Vietnam War, this eye-catching coin is affordable, official and extremely exclusive. A clear underestimation of demand, especially given the low price, the mintage has been set at just 2,500 coins!

Representing the nation with great pride, tremendous determination and redoubtable courage, Australian armed forces served in Vietnam for more than a decade – from 1962 until 1972. Originally supplying Army training advisers to assist local forces,

Australia’s military role expanded significantly from the mid 60s. Helping to both preserve and pass on the Anzac Spirit of courage, mateship and self-sacrifice, over 50,000 members of the Australian Army, Air Force and Navy served in Vietnam, with over 3,500 casualties, and more than 400 personnel killed in action.

Crafted to the highest Proof quality from half a troy ounce of pure .999 silver,

and distinguished by a dramatic

full-colour design,

this 36mm legal tender coin forms the perfect way to honour the sacrifice of the Aussies who did the nation proud during ‘Australia’s longest war’. Contrasting beautifully against the glittering silver surfaces, the depiction of an Australian Special Forces soldier, a regular Australian soldier and an Iroquois helicopter looks superb rendered in full-colour. Tremendous value at a mere A$75 for a near crown-sized, full-colour, .999 silver Proof, this important Australian military commemorative is well within your reach at Official Issue Price.
