IN APRIL - Baseball Assessments Will be held at Marinai fields on April 2nd at 5:00 pm for ages 7/8 and 6:00 pm for ages 9/10. For ages 11/14, assessments will be at 5:00 pm on April 3rd. Check-in for the assessments will begin 20 minutes prior to the session.
We are also accepting applications for volunteer baseball coaches. Become a coach and your children’s registration fee is waived! Contact Youth Sports for more information.

Ferla is a small town located in the Siracusa province and has, on the night of Holy Saturday, the tradition of “Sciaccariata” that means: illumination by fire begotten with torches. This is the night that Madonna is looking for Jesus. After the Easter Mass, a procession of Madonna and the Resurrected Jesus followed by hundreds of torches light the street.

Extended Trip- Ski the Milky Way in Northern ItalyApril 8th -12th
Join ITT and Outdoor Recreation as we head north to hit the slopes at one of the best ski areas in Europe. The “Milky Way” is known for its fabulous range of skiing that straddles the Italian and French borders. It offers great skiing and snowboarding for everyone; beginner to advanced. We’ll stay at a hotel that offers transportation to and from the slopes and you’ll have plenty of options for restaurant choices. Don’t miss out on your last chance to ski or snowboard this season! Snowshoe around Mt. SartoriusDepart: I7:30 amReturn: 4:30 pm
Cost: $35 (Bring Euro for Lunch and snacks) Snowshoes will be provided by Outdoor Recreation. Please inquire if you need waterproof pants or jackets. Enjoy snowshoeing in the forest of Mt. Sartorius on this approx. 3-hour snowshoe of medium intensity. This is one of oldest conifer forests of Mt. Etna, with trees between 200-300 years old. This is a family friendly trip; however, children must be able to snowshoe for approximately two hours at a time. Bring plenty of water and snacks along with you on this trip. Make sure to dress in layers; you’ll warm up while you’re snowshoeing but cool down once we stop for breaks, and wear at least one waterproof layer on the outside. Waterproof boots are recommended for this trip.

Liberty Photography Competition March 1st - March 31stCalling all aspiring photographers. We are hosting a photography competition just for Single Sailors E6- and below or Geo -Bachelors! Submit your 8” x 10” photograph of your adventures through Europe. Photos will be on display and voted on by your peers at Take 5 from April 1st -10th. We must have a minimum of six participants. Prizes will be awarded to top three photos with a limit of one prize per person.
Relaxing evening out Enjoy a relaxing evening out on the town. This month Liberty is heading out for Japanese
cuisine at Oxidiana in Catania. Sign up by March 6th. Cost is $5 per person for transportation, bring Euros for dinner. Departs NAS II @ 6:30 pm NAS I 7:00 pm.

Volunteer Opportunitydo you want to get involved in the local Community? Liberty is heading out to a local food kitchen in Acireale.
Transportation to and from the site will be provided and volunteers will receive a letter of recognition from MWR for their efforts. Interested participants can call 624-5602 or contact [email protected] by March 15th.
