Job Description
Allstate Protection Marketing is looking for a Marketing Data Analyst to join their Marketing Operations Data Strategy Team. The Marketing Data Analyst will be utilizing a variety of tools to provide in-depth data discovery and analysis to support marketing communications and similar marketing initiatives. The Opportunity:
Work with data in a variety of ways, including
data mapping,
profiling, : I used Ab Initio Data Profiler to solve production problems. State Calls sent reports and they will come back to us if a particular field value was showing abnormal deviation or was wrong. I was the first one in the team to start using Ab Initio data profiler capability to research these problems.
querying,
manipulation,
mining,
visualization, and
analysis to address business challenges and identify opportunities.
Map a variety of data sources to integrate disparate data into a comprehensive environment.
Utilize strong Oracle SQL skills and solid understanding of relational databases to develop complex queries to research, retrieve, and manipulate data from a data warehouse.
Leverage current technical skill set to take advantage of an exciting growth opportunity to expand skills by working in a Big Data/Hadoop environment.
Consult with IT partners and provide strategic direction to optimally structure data assets utilized for marketing and ensure appropriate access to applicable users.
Develop extensive knowledge of corporate data assets and provide expert data advice and direction to a variety of teams both within and outside of Marketing.
Participate in projects and discussions to advance Enterprise Data Strategy and Enterprise Data Quality efforts.
Job Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate:
Between 2-5 years of experience with SQL in an Oracle environment
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Computer Science
Preferred background in Marketing
Previous Data Analysis experience
Experience working with ETL tools (preferably Ab Initio) and Unix is a plus
Working knowledge of BI tools like Tableau or Business Objects is a plus
Experience with dimensional modeling and procedural languages is a plus
Keen attention to detail, with the ability to adapt and learn new tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS-Project and Access)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
