There are over 130 birds of prey on view, from owls to eagles! Many of these birds are involved in the spectacular daily flying demonstrations, whilst others are part of important breeding projects. The Trust is also home to Feathers Restaurant and the Trust shop, which can be visited without requiring admission. Main duties and responsibilities:

Ensuring the on-site communication is kept up to date. Promotion, communication and awareness raising of retail and catering as a key focus

area, with support from Marketing Communications Manager and the Catering and Retail teams.

Leading the promotion, communication and awareness-raising of events within social media, websites, and external directory sites and on-site. Managing the setup of events and tickets on the website and webshop.

Taking the lead on social media with support from the Marketing and Communications Manager and the Conservation and Communications Coordinator.

Creating a content plan Creating posts Organising the Bird Team social media rota and communications Regular social media reporting Answering enquiries and comments including in the evening and at weekends

according to a rota Selecting images for media enquiries, advertising and promotional opportunities, social

media, website and marketing opportunities around the visitor centre. Organising and categorising the Trust’s photographic library with volunteer support when

available. Working with the Trust’s designer to develop adverts and promotional material including the

Trust’s Welcome Guide and leaflets. Creating pages and making amendments to the Trust’s website, liaising with our agency

when needed. Working with the Bird Team to find interesting and newsworthy stories for social media, e-

newsletters, member newsletters and other communications. Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create and coordinate the

marketing communications plan, incorporating all Trust communication into one annual plan.

Create leaflets and posters for the Trust to promote a variety of propositions to the customers. Creation of and updating of an overall marketing report that includes marketing exposure

achieved, web stats, ticket promotions, headcount, e-newsletter stats and membership. Writing of marketing copy to promote the Trust both as a visitor attraction and a charity

working to conserve birds of prey. Coordination and creation of monthly e-newsletters, using Mailchimp. Coordination and creation of tri-annual members’ newsletters. Work with Office Manager to ensure all after-sales communication is relevant, accurate, up-to

-date and within brand guidelines. Manage, curate and promote customer opt-ins for communications, using Mailchimp and

Merac customer database. Extract data from Merac for marketing mailings and other requirements. Working with volunteers to support the work of the Marketing Team. Working with the Conservation and Communications Coordinator to communicate to all staff

and volunteers the brand guidelines.

Coordination of the photographic competition and liaison with entrants, ensuring the website is accurate and up-to-date.

Attend and represent the Trust at external exhibitions and events. Other duties as mutually agreed.

Person Specification:

This role would suit someone who is highly organised; able to be logical, analytical and structured, yet creative and imaginative; and able to write effectively for diverse audiences.

Skills and abilities:

Computer literate Essential

Strong skills in using Microsoft word, publisher and excel Essential

Experienced in editing videos and imagery for a variety of platforms, audiences and objectives using creative software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop

and Premiere) and Canva.

Experienced with CMS systems (ideally Wordpress) and understanding of the importance of good SEO
