Manufacturing of Particle Board

Particle board is manufactured through some controlled careful stepwise processes. At first the raw materials are collected from the field as a large log which are further debarked. Then they are crushed mechanically into little chips, flakes, sawdust etc. Then the little parts are steamed. Afterwards there sprayed glue around the materials and this veneers are placed and pressed together. At last after drying they are cut into the suitable size.

Identification, selection and development of a product,

Determination of its price, Selection of a distribution channel to reach the

customer's place, and Development and implementation of a

promotional strategy.

Raw materials:• planer shavings, Saw dust, and

bark• Saw mill residues, such as slabs,

edging, trimmings, etc.Manufacturing process:

Price

Price depends on the production cost. Production cost influences to fix a price. Different factors are affecting the fixation of a product price.

Placement

Placement is an important factor for marketing operation. A specific place is required for the best sell and marketing of the product. Bangladesh has many particle industries in different important places of the country.

Promotion

Product promotion performed by a typical business might take the form of advertising the product in question via print or Internet ads, direct mail or e-mail letters, trade shows, telephone and personal sales calls, TV and radio ads, billboards, posters and flyers.

Marketing of Particle Board

The management process through which goods and services move from concept to the customer. It includes the coordination of four elements called the 4 P's of marketing:

Table 2: Trend of export and import in furniture sector (soft furniture) of Bangladesh (Unit: US$ million)

Table 1: Average sales and profit among different

classes of furniture manufacturer

Disadvantages of particle board: Still doesn't quite match the quality of

solid timber Cannot support heavy loads/ low on

strength Can be prone to chip or flake Not as eco-friendly as solid wood furniture It isn't available in very thick sizes It isn't suitable for many joints
