CEO of Zappos.com,Tony Hsieh, shares about what goes on in the Zappos office, amongst other things instead of hard-sellinghis product, and people are intrigued and interested, so they keep checking back to see what is new.

Don’t use Twitter to sell. Share about your company’s corporate culture, your leadership values, yourstaff, your professional engagements or casual, seemingly frivolous activities that add character to yourbrand. Just as importantly, address your customers’ needs through Twitter. Let your customers knowyou’re thinking about them. HTC addresses the individual needs of followers and replies them onTwitter. 2. Be real, be relevant

You really do not want to be tweeting about what you are having for lunch every day. More than justbeing current, you have to make it relevant, meaningful and readable, so your followers look forward toyour updates.

Know your audience

Find out who follows you. Read their bios, so you can learn how best to engage them in a conversation.You can gain a loyal following by being interested.
