JUNIOR PARENT NIGHT MRHS Student Services will be holding a Junior Parent
Night on Wednesday, November 16th at 7pm in the Commons. We strongly encourage par-
ents of current juniors to attend this event to learn more about steps that need to be taken in
junior year to prepare for college. Topics will include SAT/ACT, College Searches, and Navi-
ance. If you need to activate your parent Naviance account, counselors will be available in the
Student Services office between 6:15 and 6:55 pm on November 16th (before the Junior Parent
Night Presentation) to assist you.
ATTENTION JUNIOR STUDENTS . . . Ambassadors from the University of Maryland Clark School of Engineering will be visiting MRHS on Wednesday, November 30th. They will be sharing information on the admissions process, different types of engineering, and what it's like to be a Terp! If you're interested in engineering, or just the University of Maryland, come by for a quick presentation at 8:30 am (for juniors only) in the cafeteria, or stop by their information table during Mustang Time in the commons. The representatives coming are two current upperclassmen engineering students and are also coincidentally MRHS al-um (Allison Dunn and Shannon Larson)!
If you are a junior and interested in attending the visit, you must sign up through Naviance (look for the UMD visit on 11/30 at 8:30 am). The visit is listed under the upcoming visits in the "colleges" section of your Naviance account.
Attention actors and movie makers! This year's HoCo Student Film
Festival will be held on March 10th at 7 PM at the Miller branch of the
Howard County Library. Get involved! Make a film! Share a story!
Showcase your acting or directing talent! Films must be submitted by
February 18th for judging. Winners receive fabulous prizes! More infor-
mation, including rules and submission directions, can be found at
www.hocofilmfest.com. See Mrs. Rashid or Mr. McDonald with any ques-
