DIARY OF EVENTS
MARWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER
Dear Parent/Carer
Preparations are in full swing for December’s Christmas activities.
The MSA team are busy putting together the amazing hamper raffle
prizes for the draw at the Fair next Friday. Class 4 are planning their
enterprise games and Mrs Rowe is taking bookings – via the school
office – for the Senior Citizens’ Christmas lunch on Wednesday 4th
December.
Today a team of Marwood Church volunteers talked to the children
about the story behind the ‘Christingle’ while they made the orange
based decoration. You and your family are invited tothe Marwood
Church Christingle Service on Sunday 1st December 4:00pm at
Marwood Parish Church. It is a great start to advent and the build up
to Christmas.
All the children are rehearsing for our nativity on Tuesday 10th
December 1:30 in the school / community hall. This is the first time
we have done a whole school production and I am aware that our
audience of parents and family members will make a very full house.
We would like parents to attend on Tuesday 10th. If you think you
need more space for wider family members we can accommodate
them at the dress rehearsal on Monday 9th at 1:30 pm.
It is not all about Christmas at school and we have great learning
going on in classes with new displays of children’s work up. There is
one more sporting event on Monday 2nd when 40 children from
Classes 3 and 4 are representing the school at an Ilfracombe
swimming competition. I wish them the very best.
Reading – Thank you to all who have taken the time to work with your
children on reading. Children from foundation to year 6 have a reading
record and we have seen an increase in the parent comments. If you

Christmas Card Competition
It’s that time again – Mrs East’s
Christmas Card Competition!
The last newsletter of the term is
always a Christmas Card designed
by a pupil from each year group!
Your design needs to be on a piece
of A4 paper, which will be copied
onto card. Please do not stick lumps
of cotton wool or anything similar - it
doesn’t copy well!
The winning cards will be judged by
an independent judge on Monday
16th December, which is the day of
the Pantomime, so we will use the
characters to judge the cards.
Lovely prizes for the winning
entries.
