Ascension
This weekend we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into heaven! We remember that Jesus has gone ahead of us into God's world; and our world is now ruled from his throne as he draws us into that space. Jesus has entered God's space, a different kind of space, with a different kind of time. God's space and ours, what we call heaven and earth, are different but not far from each other, different but not distant. In professing that we are being drawn
after him to where he has gone before we are proclaiming that one day these two will be united in a totally mysterious way and that Jesus will be present to us in a radically different way to the way we now know.
Even though Jesus has ascended to the Father, he is never far and always close! Life in God allows unlimited presence to all disciples in all places, even to the ends of the earth! We need to continue our journey of discipleship in revealing God’s love as we make our way to heaven.
We continue to recruit and take applications for enrollment in our parish school. We have many advantages to share and great things are in store for this parish as our facilities improve with our new Parish Life Center. Every Catholic should seriously consider providing a Catholic school education for their children. Our school is a reminder that Jesus reigns from his throne in heaven looking upon us with love.
Easter is the season of great joy and the Easter season is drawing to a close, but we are reminded in the Gospel that the apostles were filled with great joy and continually in the temple praising God. We need to keep that example ever before us so that we can continually draw nourishment from the church to do the work of the church. God continues to bless us and promises the Holy Spirit. May we realize the blessings of God and become blessings to others.
God bless you,
Father Michael Kaluza

United in Faith, Honoring our Past,
Shaping Our Future!
We are a short 9 weeks away from occupancy! Our dedicated Parish Staff and Pre-K teachers are very excited about moving into the new space and leaving the Modular Buildings behind (with NO regrets!). Adorers will love the space in the Adoration Chapel - more room, more light and easier access! Both inside and out there continues to be great progress -- walls are up, elevator will be installed in the upcoming weeks; work on the cul-de-sac will begin once school is out (weather permitting).
THANK YOU to all who have donated items / labor / financial assistance to the project! Much is needed and MUCH is appreciated! The "ITEMS NEEDED" list on the website will be updated as needs are identified / quantified - including labor needed for things like building retaining walls, general landscaping and other projects that will need volunteers to help out as we get closer to moving day. We will send e-blasts out to the parish as work-dates are scheduled - any help you can give is greatly appreciated! THANK YOU to the parishioners who have emailed suggestions to bring our parish together in new and crea-tive ways! We love hearing from you! Recently, a pa-rishioner suggested: Request parishioners to share their hobbies or expertise by teaching a class for other parish-ioners: birdhouse making, beer brewing, bread baking, personal finance, knitting, crocheting, creative writing, canning, kids crafts, friendship bracelets, rosary making, prayer shawls, possibilities are endless! Pass the time on a Sunday afternoon learning something new with the church community. If you have ideas you would like to share, or would like to be part of a team to plan and execute these ideas, please email [email protected]. Mary Queen of Peace, Pray for Us!

JUNE, 2019
~~ A Year of Gratitude 2018-2019 ~~ Dear Parishioners, We have so much to be grateful at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic School. First, we are extremely proud to share the academic progress during the 2018-2019 school year. Students in grades 1-5 took the NWEA MAP assessment this spring, and I’d like to share the overall results. 96% of MQP students scored above the 50th percentile (National Average) in math and 87% of MQP students scored above the 50th percentile in reading. This is AWESOME! In addition to the outstanding test scores, we received the news that Mary Queen of Peace Catholic School was chosen as the 2019 Best Private School in the Readers’ Choice Awards from the Crow River News! We are thrilled with this honor. Thank you! Calling ALL alumni students and families. We would love to hear from you, and share your success in the community. Please contact the school office to provide us with photos, your news, celebrations, awards, honors and accomplishments. We are proud to celebrate YOU. MQP is an amazing family community! Your time, dedication and support of the school is appreciated and allows us to thrive. A special thank you to the many supporters, volunteers and organizations who continue to support our academic programs, marketing, enrollment efforts, technology and professional development to support Catholic education. Please don’t hesitate to contact the office at 763-428-2355 if you are interested in volunteering at the school. We have a great need for help in the library, school office, and extra help in the classrooms. Peace and Joy to you and your family! With gratitude,
Mrs. Kate Hamill Principal

June is the Month of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus
Feast Day June 28
The Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
was started and made popular by St.
Margaret Mary Alacoque. She was inspired by visions of Jesus
to spread this devotion. This was a favorite prayer of St. Padre
Pio and Saint Theresa of Calcutta who prayed it every day.
Please join us in the 9 Day Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
leading up to this solemn feast! The Novena will be posted
on the parish website.
