Built in 1910 for two Mason City attorneys, The Historic Park Inn Hotel and City National Bank building is the last remaining hotel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. This classic example of Prairie School Architecture has been completely restored to its original appearance serving as an exquisite hotel. Explore the restored public places of the hotel on a guided tour of the facility. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the Prairie School style, constructed in 1908, the Stockman House presents a revolutionary challenge to the very common four-square house of that time. Its open floor plan led to the floor plan of the modern American home. The restored home is furnished with Arts & Crafts and Wright designs of its period. It is the first and only Prairie School house designed in Iowa by Wright. Tours begin at the adjacent Architectural Interpretive Center offering visitors an unique look at Mason City’s Prairie Homes in Rock Crest / Rock Glen Historic District.Stockman House Tours: Third weekend in May through August: Tours begin hourly, on the hour — 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Thurs.–Sat., Sun. 1–3 p.m. (last tour begins at 3 p.m.), Sept. & Oct.
