This annual collecon has ancient roots, dang from the me of the Apostles when Chris- ans would provide material support to those preaching the Gos- pel to distribute to those in need. As Pope Francis challenged us a few years ago, Let us not fall into indifference, but become instruments of Gods mercy. All of us can be instruments of Gods mercy(General Au- dience, Nov. 9, 2016). With help from university students in the parish who teach math, Arabic, and English, hundreds of children not in the school system are learning to read and write.
