Prayer for Father’s Day
God our Father, We give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old. We pray
for young fathers; newly embracing their vocation; May they find courage and
perseverance to balance faith, family, and work in joy and sacrifice. We pray for
Fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; May they know
that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow. We pray for men
who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember father, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer
with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.
“Just as St. Joseph, you
too must be guardians
in age, wisdom and
grace.” - Pope Francis
Thank you!
Thank you for all the Birthday cards and notes that folks
had sent to me! - Father Dale
Thank you!
Our Mother loved God, her family, and her Catholic
Church family and friends. We would like to thank eve-
ryone who came to her Memorial calling and Mass, and
those who were involved in making her Mass so beauti-
ful. Thank you for the wonderful luncheon. Thank you
for the prayers, generosity, kindness, and memorial
contributions.

Letter from Most Reverend Kevin C. Rhoades:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Next Weekend, June 23 and 24, the Peter’s Pence Collection will
be taken up at all Masses in our diocese. This annual collection has
ancient roots, dating from the time of the Apostles when Chris-
tians would provide material support to those preaching the Gos-
pel to distribute to those in need. Today, your generosity will help
Pope Francis ease the suffering of some of our most marginalized
brothers and sister throughout the world and show them the ten-
der love of God. As Pope Francis challenged us a few years ago,
“Let us not fall into indifference, but become instruments of God’s
mercy. All of us can be instruments of God’s mercy” (General Au-
dience, Nov. 9, 2016). The funds raised in this collection help the
Holy Father respond to victims of war, persecution and natural
disasters throughout the world. For example, with the support of
this collection, a funding network has been created to respond to
the needs of Immaculate Conception Parish School in Jordan,
which is located about 12 miles from the border with Syria. The
parish assists more than 800 children, many of whom are refugees
from the war in Syria. With help from university students in the
parish who teach math, Arabic, and English, hundreds of children
not in the school system are learning to read and write. Please
give generously to the Peter’s Pence Collection, and help Pope
Francis to continue to be an instrument of God’s mercy through-
out the world.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Kevin C. Rhoades
