St. Ambrose Annual Parish Bazaar “New Beginning, Make the Difference”

Sunday, June 30, 2019

Our Spring Bazaar is our Parish’s only fundraiser of the

year and it is on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 11:00am to

7:00pm The Bazaar is made up of raffle, silent auction,

adult games, children games & activities and of course live

entertainment.

VOLUNTEERS- We need you!! Let’s all work together

in making this our best Bazaar year! All parishioners are

CMG Safe Haven online training will replace the

previous VIRTUS training

The CMG Safe Haven online training is replacing the

VIRTUS training. The training consists of 3 vignette style

training videos that is approximately 60 minutes and will

include a criminal background check that must be completed.

These trainings are available in English and Spanish. We will

no longer offer live trainings, all Safe Environment trainings

will only be available online. If you have any additional questions, please contact

St. Ambrose Early Childhood Center

Our Early Childhood Center (ECC) is accepting applications for full time Director for our Early Childhood program.

The Director oversees the daily on-site operations of the St. Ambrose Early Childhood Center (SAECC), which includes maintaining compliance with the Texas Minimum Standards and St. Ambrose Church rules and guidelines.

The Director will plan, develop, organize, supervise and maintain center programs for students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with certification in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Tour of BeeWeaver and visit Martha's Bloomers

Parishioners 50 years and older.

Join us on Thursday, May 23, as the Golden Youth

Club of St. Ambrose will be taking a bus trip to visit

Bee Weaver. We will leave St. Ambrose at 9:15 am.

We will have bee experts lead us on a journey into a

hive of bees. Learn the basic biology of honey bees

and the important steps in working a hive of bees.

Lunch will be dutch treat at Mallett Brothers BBQ.

Following lunch we will visit Martha's Bloomers.

Martha's Bloomers opened in 2000 as a Home and

Garden store and has grown into a shopping

destination. If you like to hunt for treasures and

unique items to accent your home, then you'll love

Martha's Bloomers. There are beautiful gardens,

fountains and garden décor that surround the property.

We should be back at St. Ambrose about 4:30 pm. The

tour is limited to persons 50 years or older and bus

seating. There is a $5 charge to visit the Bee Weaver,

plus dutch Treat lunch.

Apocalipsis 1,9-13.17-19: Estaba muerto y, ya ves, vivo por los siglos

de los siglos

Juan 20,19-31: A los ocho días, llegó Jesús ¿Cuántos se ven afligidos día a día por experiencias de vacío, de

soledad, de tristeza e infelicidad, de dolor y sufrimiento ya sea físico,

psicológico o espiritual, de amarguras y resentimientos, de impaciencias, de incomprensiones y pleitos? ¿Cuántos experimentan conflictos

interiores que devienen en tantas ansiedades, miedos y temores? ¿Cuántos al experimentar la falta de armonía interior anhelan

intensamente la paz? Muchos, al no saber dónde encontrar esa paz del corazón que

consigo trae la alegría y el gozo profundo, no hacen sino recorrer desquiciadamente los caminos de la evasión. La diversión superficial, la

alegría efímera, las borracheras, el gozo o el placer de momento, parecen hacer olvidar la a veces insoportable carga de angustia y dolor que oprime

el corazón. Tales “soluciones” o salidas fáciles no traen sino una falsa paz,

una efímera euforia. ¿Cuántos lloran en secreto, mientras externamente fuerzan la sonrisa y la alegría, queriendo olvidar y esconder su propia

carga de sufrimiento y angustia porque no saben qué hacer con ella? El remedio que ofrece la cultura de muerte termina siendo peor que la

enfermedad, y aquello que parece llenar un vacío y traer el consuelo a un corazón roto y dividido interiormente, al pasar el efecto paliativo no trae

sino una mayor carga de frustración, de angustia, una mayor sensación de vacío, de soledad y sinsentido en la vida. Atrapados en esa espiral

desgastante, sin saber dónde o sin querer buscar la fuente de la verdadera paz, no hacen sino consumir “dosis” cada vez más elevadas de la misma

“droga”. Otros tantos se lanzan a la búsqueda de la paz y armonía interior

siguiendo llamativas y “novedosas” doctrinas, terapias, filosofías,

prácticas, religiones orientales o pseudo-religiones. Cada uno es libre de tomar el camino que quiera, pero lo triste y paradójico es que muchos

católicos, al escuchar a los maestros y gurús de moda, explícita o implícitamente han dejado de escuchar a Cristo —fuente última de la paz

verdadera— y las enseñanzas que Él confió a Su Iglesia. ¡Qué actuales son estas palabras, dirigidas por Dios a su pueblo por medio del profeta:

«Doble mal ha hecho mi pueblo: a mí me dejaron, Manantial de aguas vivas, para hacerse cisternas, cisternas agrietadas, que el agua no retienen».

Para encontrar el remedio adecuado es necesario un buen diagnóstico. ¿De dónde viene la falta de armonía y paz interior que

experimenta el ser humano? ¿Por qué yo mismo me experimento tantas

veces roto y dividido interiormente? La revelación sale a nuestro encuentro: la falta de armonía y paz interior tiene su origen en el pecado,

en la rebeldía del hombre frente a Dios y sus amorosos designios. Al romper con Dios el ser humano se quiebra interiormente y cae en un

proceso de desintegración incluso psíquica, rompe la comunión con sus hermanos humanos y con toda la creación. El pecado, lejos de llevar al ser

humano a su plenitud y a la gloria divina —como sinuosamente había sugerido la antigua serpiente — se volvió contra él mismo, hundiéndolo en

el abismo de la muerte. En efecto, al romper con la Fuente de su misma vida y amor la criatura humana se quebró interiormente ella misma,

ingresando de este modo en un proceso de desintegración incluso psíquica, rompiendo asimismo la comunión con sus hermanos humanos y con toda

la creación. Frutos amargos de esta cuádruple ruptura son la pérdida de la paz y armonía interior, que se expresan en la experiencia de vacío,

soledad, tristeza, infelicidad, amargura, ansiedades, etc. De esa falta de

paz y armonía en el corazón humano surgen todas las contiendas, rencillas, divisiones e incluso guerras entre los pueblos.

¿Cuál es el remedio? ¿Dónde encontramos la verdadera y profunda paz que anhelan nuestros inquietos corazones? En Cristo,

recuerda San Pablo, «estaba Dios reconciliando al mundo consigo» Porque Dios nos ama, nos ha enviado a su propio Hijo para que en Él encontremos

la paz que tanto necesitamos: «¡Él es nuestra paz!» Él, cargando sobre sí nuestros pecados, reconciliándonos con el Padre en la Cruz, nos abre el

camino a una profunda reconciliación y armonía con nosotros mismos, con todos los hermanos humanos y con toda la creación.

«¡La paz contigo!», nos dice el Señor también a nosotros, invitándonos a acoger el don de la paz y reconciliación que Él nos ha

obtenido por su Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección, invitándonos a acogerlo a

Él mismo en nuestras vidas y convertirnos también nosotros en agentes de reconciliación en nuestra familia, en nuestros círculos de amigos y

Prayer and meditation before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament

are great ways to spend some special time with Him. You can

ask Him for graces for yourself or loved ones and pray for

vocations to the priesthood and religious life. St. Ambrose has

adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday and the 1st

Friday of the month in the chapel after the 8:00AM Mass until

6:00. Come and spend some time with the Lord.

“Upcoming Events (2019)” May 5: Water Balloon Battle

3:00pm – 5:00pm, St. Ambrose Sports Field

*Bring a friend and come join us, and Kona Ice, for a ton of

water FUN! Bring filled water balloons in an ice chest

(recommend ice chest on wheels) and get your throwing arm

ready to participate in our annual Water Balloon Battle.

Afterwards, we pick up the balloon trash (Leave No Trace) and

then enjoy watermelon together. Optional Extras - Bring a

water bottle for each member of your family, a towel & change

of clothes for you as you will probably get drenched, water

guns/toys, camp chair(s), sun glasses, & sunscreen.
