Reflection of the Gospel:

Jesus commands the bewildered disciple to feed

the crowd of over five thousand. They reply.

“Five loaves and two fish are all we have.” The

disciples are forgetting something, however.

They also have the Bread of life within their

midst. The feeding of the five thousand comes

immediately after the Twelve have returned

from their first apostolic mission to proclaim the

kingdom of God and heal the sick. Entrusted

with a share in Jesus’ saving work, the Twelve

still do not comprehend the breadth of their mis-

sion. With Jesus there is no need to fear scarcity.

The five loaves and two fish are enough to feed

the hungry crowd with twelve baskets left over.

“The food that makes us live for ever in Jesus Christ" When we receive from the Lord's table we unite ourselves to

Jesus Christ, who makes us sharers in his body and blood.

Reflexión del Evangelio:

Jesús le ordena al discípulo desconcertado que

alimente a la multitud de más de cinco mil. Ellos

responden. "Todo lo que tenemos son cinco

panes y dos peces". Sin embargo, los discípulos

están olvidando algo. También tienen el Pan de

la vida en medio de ellos. La alimentación de los

cinco mil llega inmediatamente después de que

los doce hayan regresado de su primera misión

apostólica para proclamar el reino de Dios y

sanar a los enfermos. Encargados de compartir el

trabajo salvífico de Jesús, los Doce aún no com-

prenden la amplitud de su misión. Con Jesús no

hay que temer la escasez. Los cinco panes y dos

peces son suficientes para alimentar a la multitud

hambrienta con doce canastas sobrantes.

“La comida que nos hace vivir para siempre en Jesucristo ".

Cuando recibimos de la mesa del Señor nos unimos a Jesucristo,

quien nos hace partícipes de su cuerpo y sangre.

MINISTRY ASSIGNMENT

We have been made aware, through the second

Vatican Council, that the Eucharist is the peak

and summit of our Christian life. Theologians

explain that the entire sacramental life of the

Church revolves around the Eucharist, which is

the center toward which all the sacraments

converge, using the metaphor of the spokes of a

wheel radiating from the hub. Or like heat from

furnace or rays of light from a lamp. St. Thomas calls the

Eucharist the sacrament of sacraments, the source and goal of

all sacramental life.

Once again, we are reminded of the importance and

prominence of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist as we

celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of

Christ. Christ instituted the Eucharist during the last supper,

enjoining his disciples to “do this in memory of me”, as he took

the bread and the wine, saying, “This is my body; this is my

blood. As a memorial, we celebrate the sacrifice of our Lord.

He offered his life on the cross for our salvation.

At times we may tend to forget the importance of the

Eucharist. It has become a routine for us. Or it is just a Sunday

obligation. We should always remember that our Lord wants to

be with us, as he said to his disciples, “I will be with you

always”. We celebrate his real presence in the Eucharist. He is

with us, his body and blood, soul and divinity as the mode of

his Eucharistic presence.

As we gather around the table of the Lord, let us partake of his

body and blood, and receive the words that can lead us to

eternal life. Let us allow the Lord to nourish us with his word

and sacrament. Let his presence with us, the Body of Christ;

strengthen our life as a community of faith. May our Lord Jesus

Christ transform us as we receive him in Holy Communion,

and become like him. Hence, as we sing

that beautiful song during communion,

“may we become what we receive.”

This time of year, we read horrible stories in the news about

children being left in hot cars. This tragedy can happen to anyone,

so it’s important to take steps to minimize risks. Don’t leave your

children in the car, even for a few minutes, when temperatures are

high. Even with the windows down, it can get hot inside fast, and

small children may be unable to open doors to get out. Don’t let

your children play in the car. They could easily shut themselves in a

hot vehicle without you noticing. Store your purse, wallet, or cell

phone in the backseat, next to your child’s car seat. You’ll reach for

those things on your way out, reminding you of a sleeping or quiet

Hemos sido conscientes, a través del Concilio

Vaticano II, de que la Eucaristía es la cima y la

cumbre de nuestra vida cristiana. Los teólogos

explican que toda la vida sacramental de la

Iglesia gira en torno a la Eucaristía, que es el

centro hacia el cual convergen todos los

sacramentos, utilizando la metáfora de los

radios de una rueda que irradia desde el centro.

O como el calor del horno o los rayos de luz de una lámpara.

Santo Tomás llama a la Eucaristía el sacramento de los

sacramentos, la fuente y la meta de toda vida sacramental.

Una vez más, se nos recuerda la importancia y prominencia del

Sacramento de la Sagrada Eucaristía al celebrar la Solemnidad

del Santísimo Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. Cristo instituyó la

Eucaristía durante la última cena, ordenando a sus discípulos

que “hagan esto en memoria mía”, mientras tomaba el pan y el

vino, diciendo: “Este es mi cuerpo; esta es mi sangre Como

memorial, celebramos el sacrificio de nuestro Señor. Ofreció su

vida en la cruz por nuestra salvación.

A veces podemos olvidar la importancia de la Eucaristía. Se ha

convertido en una rutina para nosotros. O es solo una

obligación del domingo. Siempre debemos recordar que nuestro

Señor quiere estar con nosotros, como dijo a sus discípulos:

"Estaré contigo siempre". Celebramos su presencia real en la

eucaristía. Él está con nosotros, su cuerpo y su sangre, su alma

y su divinidad como el modo de su presencia eucarística.

Mientras nos reunimos alrededor de la mesa del Señor,

participemos de su cuerpo y sangre, y recibamos las palabras

que nos pueden llevar a la vida eterna. Permitamos que el Señor

nos alimente con su palabra y sacramento. Deja su presencia

con nosotros, el Cuerpo de Cristo; Fortalecer nuestra vida como

comunidad de fe. Que nuestro Señor Jesucristo nos transforme

a medida que lo recibimos en la Sagrada Comunión y

lleguemos a ser como él. Por lo tanto,

mientras cantamos esa hermosa canción

durante la comunión, "podemos llegar a

ser lo que recibimos".

¿SABÍA USTED? En esta época de calor, no deje a los niños encerrados solos en el

auto En esta época del año, leemos historias horribles en las noticias

de adultos que han dejado solos a sus niños en autos cerrados y bajo

el sol.Esta tragedia le puede pasar a cualquiera, por lo que es

importante tomar medidas para minimizar los riesgos. Cuando las

temperaturas son altas no deje a sus hijos en el automóvil, ni

siquiera por unos minutos. Aun cuando baje las ventanas, el auto

puede calentarse rápidamente y los niños pequeños no pueden abrir

las puertas para salir. No deje que sus hijos jueguen adentro del

auto. Podrían fácilmente encerrarse en un vehículo caliente sin que

usted se dé cuenta. Coloque su bolso, billetera o teléfono celular en

el asiento trasero, al lado del asiento de su hijo/a. Así, usted

alcanzará esas cosas cuando se vaya a bajar y no olvidará a su niño/

a dormido/a o tranquilo/a en el asiento trasero. Para más consejos,
