Updated 10/16 Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis The Applied Behavior Analysis program prepares graduates at the Master’s level to practice the discipline in diverse private and public settings: clinics, homes, schools, businesses, and organizations. Students are trained to develop and deliver evidence-driven behavioral services in areas such a developmental disabilities, child welfare, education, and mental health. Shenandoah University’s ABA program collaborates with a network of agencies throughout the northern Virginia area and Shenandoah Valley that provide experiential opportunities and stipends for students as they complete their practical training in the program. In addition, students accepted into the ABA program receive a substantial discount on the cost of tuition. Our graduate curriculum and practicum have been pre-approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Admission is generally limited to the Fall semester unless students have prior graduate training. The program can be complete in four semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall). Students who already have a Master’s in a related field and wish to complete the 6-course sequence necessary to sit for the BCBA exam may do so by contacting the Program Director directly. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Graduate Application for Admission along with a $30 non-refundable application fee Bachelor’s Degree (minimum 3.0 GPA) Undergraduate major in psychology, special education, education, speech pathology, social work, or similar discipline Official transcripts from all institutions of higher education previously attended Essay addressing the applicant’s reason for applying to the Applied Behavior Analysis program, including what factors influenced the decision and how this program will help the individual to reach professional goals Three letters of recommendation written by professors, supervisors, or other persons engaged in the practice of Applied Behavior Analysis or other human services professions TRANSFER CREDITS Only grades of “A” or “B” are transferable.
