Implemented SAP NetWeaver and its Employee Self Service (ESS) component running through the SAP NetWeaver portal. SAP NetWeaver is an integration and application platform that aligns people, processes, and communication within a company. The preconfigured business processes in the SAP ESS portal, defined by MSSI, have enabled Client to build common practices in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

Case Study - 2THE CHALLENGEClient’s old and outdated HR applications, which were first developed by its own programmers in early 1990s, increasingly posed an obstacle to the efforts to improve the management and raise the productivity of its 31,000 employees.

THE SOLUTIONClient chose SAP HR to help it implement the new employee management system. The decision, however, was made with great care. The next crucial question was what platform should BRI use to run the HR application on? Should it be UNIX, mainframe or Windows 2000? Client’s decision to continue using Microsoft as the platform for SAP HR was by no means an automatic process, either.

THE SOLUTIONMSSI team implemented a solution based on SAP R/3 BW (business warehouse) where the system is integrated with SAP's CO (controlling) module for personnel cost reporting and control. The rollout of SAP R/3 BW, with standardized KPIs and custom reporting tools was extended to 280 users companywide and provides reporting capability across six key personnel areas.

Case Study - 5THE CHALLENGE Client has a decentralized organizational structure. In this organizational structure, employees lacked insight, coordination, and understanding of HR-related global best practices and processes – the information needed to improve productivity and work behaviors.

THE SOLUTIONClient purchased an enterprise version of SAP R/3 from which it could implement a global single instance of R/3. This global single instance enabled Client to implement best-practice workflows and cross-functional business processes worldwide – via the broad spectrum of applications available in mySAP Business Suite. Client is running all of its mySAP HR applications on one global instance of R/3, which supports 9 languages, 7,500 users, and 50,000 materials. Case Study - 6THE CHALLENGEClient implements the MM, PP, FI, CO, and SD modules and the product data management (PDM) functionalities of SAP R/3 3.1i as well as a shop-floor control system. All modules, including PDM, went live. PDM is the main driver of this project.

THE SOLUTIONMSSI was responsible for the complete process of the PDM introduction, from planning to executing. Starting with the analysis of Client' PDM requirements, MSSI recommend the best approach using SAP R/3. In conjunction with Client‘s process leaders, MSSI set up the project plan which encompasses the sizing, scoping, and coordination of the PDM implementation as well as time, resource, and skills planning.

MSSI configures the SAP system and provides know-how training and support in the following areas: • Implementation of SAP Business Workflow to support and accelerate the complete product development process. • Engineering change management to manage major changes to materials and bills of materials that occur during the first trial production. • Maintenance of nearly all product information (images, text files, and so on) through the document management system. • Classification within SAP to add additional information to materials.
