MATHS IN ACTION SHOW

Diego: (Counting people in the room):

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,.............more than 9 people here today. how many are you?It doesn't matter! Anyway, a quantity.(slowly and in a funny voice).

Chaimae: Have you noticed our life has been a huge conspiracy to make us learn Maths by doing?Go back in time with me and you'll see.

Three new people come into the scene. Two of them sit on chairs. One takes a newspaper the other holds in his/ her lap the third student.

Malena: He's so cute. He already understands us. Look, darling (starts making and singing Five little Wolves. Repeat it twice) Come on, your turn. (sings again and the baby mimes). Look, darling, babe can do it. Well done, smart babe.

Sergio: (Looking at the baby while putting the newspaper aside) Yeah, we've got an Einstein

Diego: An Einstein? Isn't it a bit too early? But relatives are really keen on teaching us and for about, let's say 121 days, whenever they don't know what to do, they get closer to baby Einstein and...

Two people: the same baby on a blanket and a new person appear on stage.

Nerea: Cuchi, cuchi. how old is baby getting? (spreading one finger in front of the baby). One, one. (repeat it again twice until Victor spreads his finger) . Great! One, one.

Chaimae: There you are, we already know five and one. There's still a long way ahead. don't believe me? See.

Two people are on stage. One of them is holding a child's hand and climbing stairs.

Mario One, two, three. Now you.(Victor climbs and counts)

Diego: you get into kindergarden to sit in a big circle (funny voice),

Chaimae: go to the playground on a line(funny voice)

Diego: and put triangles, squares, pyramids (funny voice) into a toy house.

Chaimae: Then, hopscoth, skipping rope games at primary school.

Diego: Then it is multiplication singing.

(everybody sings a multiplication table).

Chaimae: The whole world conspiring against us. what for?

Diego: to create maths quizzes and wikidictionaries,

Chaimae: to dig into mathematicians ' lives in order to impersonate them,

Diego: to invent stories for graphs,

Chaimae: to make photos talk about maths in art and nature,

Diego: to build gadgets,

Chaimae: to follow clues in detective stories,

Diego: to write poetry about PI(romantic voice).

Chaimae and Diego: Is there anything freakier?

. Slide show with Fibonacci sequence in spiral)

Chaimae: Oh, my dear! how stupid I am! Fibonacci was missing! Square roots, powers, equations and on and on and on.............

Diego: To finally, join a Dance School to do Máths again for tango.

Chaimae: And as eveybody knows in tango "one plus one equals one"(satiric voice)

Ester goes on the stage to dance tango with Diego (le tango du prof de maths)

Diego: hope you liked the show, if you did, feel free from Maths rules and dance.(tango)
