maxDNA is name of control system.
maxDNA is developed by Metso Automation USA.
maxDNA widely used for power plant automation.
First maxDNA control supplied to RRVUNL Kota Unit-6.
All the modules supplied to Kota unit were imported from USA.
From then all the modules are being manufactured at our EDN
Bangalore unit.
maxDNA control system is customized for specific application.

maxDNARPU COMPONENTS
The Distributed Processing Unit (DPU4F) is theprocess controller.
The Model 4F Distributed Processing Unit (DPU)
is a multifunction controller and data acquisitionprocessor that executescontrol algorithms, sequence logic, sequence of events time tagged to 1 ms
resolutiondata acquisition.

maxDNADPU4F (CONT.) The heart of the DPU is a database called the
Distributed Point Management System (DPMS).The DPMS is fully aware of the tag names,
hierarchy, and other text attributes of itsconfigured points. It is loaded with aconfiguration created by the Systems engineerand executes that configuration to provide thecontrol and data acquisition functions required.
The DPU 4F resides directly on the MAXNETcommunications network without the need forservers.

COMMISSIONING SEQUENCE
A- PANEL POWER-UP Check cabinet installation as per drawing( system O&M manuals).
Check for any physical damage.
Checking of hardwares as per configuration diagram.
Verify I/O module addresses.
Verify that modules are properly inserted in back plane.
Ensure that DPU mode switch is kept at F. Verify that all backplanes are connected with ribbon cable and terminator is put to last
backplane slot.
Remove all P2/P3 connectors from the I/O modules to isolate field terminations.
Ensure the panel electronic & power supply ground earthing.
Ensure that no wirings are loose terminated.
Check for power supply before power-up.
Ensure that power supply connectors are properly connected to backplanes.
Switch on power supply and check for 24VDC supply.
Observe that DPUs boot-up and LED indications.

B-COMMUNICATION WITH EWS Set the EWS and connect the peripherals including respective dongle card.
Boot-up the EWS
maxStartup program automatically start and minimizes.
maxStartup software version is 4.2.1.SP-2
Without dongle card maxStartup program can not be started.
Power on network switches Connect the network cable as per layout
Establish the communication with EWS.
Verify the DPU address at EWS.
Load the application software and verify the ACTIVE LED of I/O module aregreen. ACTIVE indication should not blink.
Unfreeze the outputs. All the outputs freezed when full application software isloaded to DPU.
Connect P2/P3 connectors sequentially and proceed for loop checking.
