17-18 STATE MATH RESULTS

Congratulations to the Algebra 2 Team on their top 20 finish at the state meet! The team members who made the trip to the University of Illinois were Noah Hauptmann, Ryan Kelly, Laura Nawrocki, Kayla Villa, and Bob Villa. Congratulations to the entire math team on a math-magical year. Calc-u-later!

CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS There will be an athlete parent meeting on Thursday, May 17 at 6:00 PM in the Main Gym.

Attention all athletes interested in trying out for cheerleading: Tryouts will be from 3:30-5:30 PM on May 22-25 in the Sports Complex. All participants must have the tryout packet paperwork completed and be registered on the East Athletic Website at http://il.8to18.com/scehs and have a current physical. Packets can be found in the athletic office or on the 8to18 Cheerleading Page under "Resources" and be printed off at home. See you there!

ANNUAL CAR SHOW

Saturday, May 19 is our 14th annual STCE Car Show and all staff and students are invited! Do you have a vehicle of any type to enter in the show? There will be fun, food, cool vehicles, and awards for the winning entries. STCE students only $3 to enter a vehicle. $10 for all others. Spectators are free. The time is Noon to 4:00 PM and it is held right outside our auto shop. Hope to see you and a friend there! See Mrs. Martha Johnson or Mr. Tom Straiker for more information.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENT TRYOUTS

Are you a current sophomore or junior? Would you like to be part of the Morning Announcement Team for next year? Please sign up for a 10 minute audition/tryout on Tuesday, May 22. A script will be provided and you will be video-taped in the studio. See Mrs. Dandre for more details. The sign-up sheet is now available in the Student Activities office.

X-RAY APPLICATIONS The X-Ray newspaper staff is now accepting applications for all editorial positions for the 2018-2019 school year. These positions include editor-in-chief, all section editors, advertising, photo and graphics and managing editor. Please contact Mrs. Ladowski or stop by B215 to pick up an application. All applications are due on Thursday, May 24.

The STCE Athletic Boosters is looking for someone to fill the position of Concession Purchaser for the 2018-2019 school year. You would be working with the concession team to ensure that the stands are stocked for all home sporting events offering concessions and, in so doing, you would be earning money for the team(s) of your choice.

AP TESTING INFORMATION AP exams will be administered from Monday, May 7 to Friday, May 18. Exact room locations will be posted in the hallway outside of Student Services. Students, please remember the following: Identification is required upon entering the testing rooms: PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR ID Please bring several sharpened #2 pencils. Mechanical pencils are not allowed Please bring a pen in blue or black ink. No backpacks allowed into the testing centers (Leave all personal belongings in locker) Electronic equipment (cell phones, smartphones, smartwatch, laptop, tablet computer, etc.) are prohibited

ART CLUB Art Club will be having their last meeting of the year in the Norris Cultural Arts Center after school on Wednesday, May 16 to celebrate our Spring Art Show. The viewing will be from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with recognitions and awards given at 3:00 p.m. Treats will be provided.

PROJECT LEAD THE WAY 2018 -19

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, May 23 at 1:30 in D-140 to discuss expectations for PLTW: EDD and Syn-ergy Internship for the 2018/2019 school year. We will not have internship assignments available at the meeting but you will need to know your reporting and hours requirements prior to starting your assignment. For EDD, you will need materials and complete an assignment prior to starting the next school year.
