MAY 2016
‘May’ We Entice Youwith Local
Programming?PBS39 is stepping out in the community this
May, highlighting what’s going on in eastern
Pennsylvania and western New Jersey with our
all-new Local Hour premiering Tuesdays,
beginning May 3rd at 7:00pm. PBS39 will
feature content that highlights the people,
places, and issues that matter to you.
Of course, our Emmy-nominated weekly news
magazine program, FOCUS, serves as the
centerpiece of the Local Hour this month
(Tuesdays, 7:30pm) as it wraps up its third
season. In addition, two original PBS39
productions will premiere. Viewers can watch
The Salvation Army Legacy, Tuesday, May 10th
at 7:00pm on PBS39, and Wyomissing: An
American Dream, Tuesday, May 17th at
7:00pm.
We’re taking our show on the road this spring,
as well, as we gear up for our Sixth Annual
BrewFest, Saturday, June 4th at Coca-Cola
Park. As always, you can expect good music,
good times, and good local brews from dozens
of the region’s best craft breweries. The festival
sold out in 2014 and 2015, and tickets are
going fast this year! Visit brewfest.wlvt.org for
more information.
In the community, PBS39 will be at the
Bethlehem Public Library, Southside Branch,
on Saturday, May 21st, Noon - 1:00pm, for
Create With Me, our creative crafts program
for kids.
We hope that you’ll share in our excitement to
connect you with your community this month,
and trust us when we say that, like the weather,
we’re just getting warmed up!
