In making this foregoing statement, I understand that I hereby assume the risk of such a program and do so knowingly and willfully with respect for my child. Dear Parents: On May 23rd- May 26th (Monday-Thursday), Sunnyvale’s coaching staff will be hosting the “Raider Football Camp” for boy and girl students entering 2nd through 8th grades. Included in this brochure is information about the camp as well as a registration and consent form. You may rest assured that your child will have a good time, receive expert instruction, learn football fundamentals and what it means to be a Sunnyvale Raider! This will be a non-contact camp and every precaution will be taken to ensure your child’s welfare. Campers will be divided into groups according to grade. There will be instruction in the fundamentals of the game: individual punt, pass, kick competitions, and daily life lessons in a ‘coach talk’ about issues such as drug and alcohol education and the values of work ethic. Every child will receive a camp t-shirt, backpack and certificate of participation. Prizes will be awarded to winners of individual and team competitions. Instruction in football fundamentals: stance, running, block and tackling techniques, passing, ball handling, pass receiving, punting-kicking techniques, defensive techniques and skills, movement and agility skills. Instruction on proper conditioning and nutrition, goal setting. Lessons in sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship. You will also learn about the importance of attitude, discipline, work ethic, pride and the team concept – qualities of a CHAMPION!!
