McKINLEY BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN NEED
The Back Pack Program's mission is to help alleviate child hunger by providing nutritious and easy to prepare non-perishable food items for the weekend when school-sponsored breakfasts and lunches are not available. Students in the program are discretely given a bag of food which is tucked into their backpacks on Friday afternoons. The program primarily targets students who qualify for the Free Lunch Program, or have a high-needs situation. Be aware that this form is confidential, and only the McKinley office staff and classroom teacher will be aware of who is participating in the program. PTA sponsors this program and parent volunteers prepare the food bags (PTA does not know who participates). We here at McKinley are proud to have this opportunity to support our families. If you have any questions, please contact Erika Diaz in the front office at 310-828-5011.
