DIRECTIONS FOR SCORING
1. Where a box is marked with an "X", add the values (0,1 or 2) horizontally across each row.
2. There are separate values for males and females on some boxes. Use only the values for your gender when adding across a row. If you are a male, be sure to add one point to your score, as indicated by the "+1" in the sixth row.
DIRECTIONS FOR DETERMINING TYPE
The MBTI instrument measures your preferences on four scales: EI, SN, TF, and JP. To determine your type, compare your two raw scores on each scale . Your preference is the one with the higher score. For example, if your raw score on the EI scale were 12 for Extraversion and 14 for Introversion, your preference would be Introversion. Write the letter of higher number in each scale below.
In case of a tie ("ничья") between E and I, write I; in case of a tie between S and N, write N; in case of a tie between T and F, write F; in case of a tie between J and P; write P.
3. Write each total in the shaded area to the right of its row. Do not count values of boxes that are blackened. If the row's total is zero, write a "0" in the shaded area.
1= Male2 = Female
Example:
Males count this marked box as one point.Females count this marked box as two points.
2 0 2 2
E I S N T F J P4
If no boxes in a row have been marked, write a "0" in the shaded area.
4. After totaling each row, add the vertical columns. Write the total raw score for each column at the bottom of the score sheet.
5. Recheck all your additions, then copy the raw score for each letter into the corresponding box below.

Each combination of preferences has its own set of interests, values, and skills. On this page are brief descriptions of each type. Find the one matching your four letters and see whether it fits you. Whatever your preferences, of course, you may still use some behaviors characteristic of contrasting preferences. For a more complete discussion of the types and their vocational and personal implications, see Introduction to Type interpretive guide by Isabel Briggs Myers.
