1. Introduction

MCScontrol is the optional comfortable touch screen operation panel for all hot-runner controllers of the series MCS. The base of the monitor is a high-performance computer with a stable operation system. The screen opens a simple and clear menu prompt. This enables a optimised operation of max. 270 temperature control zones via 15” touch screen monitor.

In combination with the series MCS MCScontrol may be placed on top of the controller or peripheral (in a distance of several hundred meters). The standardise VESA 75 flange enables mounting at different support systems. Interfaces like USB and parallel port (LPT1) allow data transfer or the connection of external mass storages and printers.

2. Short description

All control zones may be split up to max. 8 groups (e.g. manifold, nozzles or different components). These groups may be signed individually by titles and colours for clear distinction. The operation of a single zone from one of the groups may influence all zones of this group optionally. This is valid for setpoints as well as parameters and operation modes.

The presentation of the total overview adapts to the max. 270 zones. The zoom enables an indication of the groups with max. 75 zones with all significant values on one screen.

The integrated web-browser enables an interactive help with information about the temperature controller (service manual). An individual service manual for the mold may be added this way.

5. Delivery

About 4 weeks after order.

The process-picture allows a graphic representation of the mold with located measuring values. A simple touch on the value opens the referring zone for operation. The integrated configuration tool enables to create and change the design of the monitor for operators with the referring authorization.

Zones with frequent alarms, e.g. sensors with lose contact, are immediately put out from the others.

The well proved ToolDoctor for tool diagnostic checks the connected heaters and sensors. In case of mixed wiring, a detailed report leads to the repair of the wiring. The complete protocol will be stored with optional comments and may be printed if required.

A special feature is the diagram with max. 270 temperature curves. All values are cyclical stored on the internal harddisk and prepared for an indication of all curves for several days. The function “Zoneselector” enables an easy selection of significant zones, to examine for possible optimisation or repair.

The failure statistics put out the most disturbed zones. This way a single view allows the check of a complete shift.
