According to existing records, the seismic
activity in and around the Arabian Sea is non-
existent and hence the possibility of a
tsunami hitting the project site is negligible.
The frequency of cyclonic storms in
Sindhudurg district is low compared to most
of the coastal zones in the country with only
3 cyclonic storms being recorded during the
period 1891- 2002. However storm surges
from non-cyclonic storms, particularly during
high-tide frequently cause erosion of land in
coastal talukas including Vengurla.
Howerver, Sagartirth, Tak and Temb villages
do not fall in the high-risk zone for
inundation due to storm surge.

15000 cum & the rest 15000 cum will be
utilized to raise the plinth of villas & in
maintenance of landscape.
The ground coverage of the all the buildings
are of the order of around 22000 sqm. If
effectively 0.5 m of raised filling is required
below the villas then another 11000cum of
earth will likely to get utilized.
Hence cut and fill will be balanced by volume
of earth which would be excavated. No extra
earth will be required. Total quantity is as

ii. Liquid Effluent
During the construction phase, it is
estimated that 20 KLD of waste water will be
generated from the project site for which
septic tank will be provided. The generated
waste water shall be disposed through
mobile STP tankers.
Operation Phase:
i. Municipal solid waste
It is estimated that about 1.3 TPD of
Municipal solid wastes will be generated
from the proposed project site.
The generated solid wastes will be separated
at source and will be handled as per the
Municipal Solid Waste (Management &
Handling) Rules, 2000.
ii. Sludge from STP
An approximately 2.6 m3 per day of sludge
will be generated from the proposed STP.
The sludge from STP will be used as manure
in landscaping.
iii. Liquid effluent:
During the operation phase, an
approximately 310 KLD of waste water will
be generated, which will be treated in a STP
of 375 KLD capacity based on Membrane Bio-
Rector (MBR) Technique. The detail of
proposed STP of 375 KLD capacity is enclosed

storage tank as the recharge of groundwater

will be met from public supply system for which
we have obtained the permission from
Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikarana, Nagar' v
Gramin Yojana Up Vibhag, Savantvadi. As there
is no other source available to fulfill the
requirement of balance 296 KLD of fresh (raw)
water, it is proposed to draw this quantity of
water from the groundwater.
The treated wastewater (295 KLD) from the STP
will be used for flushing, partial cooling and
horticulture purposes

The impact of noise and vibrations will be
controlled by providing personal protective
equipments (PPEs) like ear plugs, ear muffs etc.
