B-Professional Information
1- Aim of the programmme: The goal of this program in
Dermatology& Venereology is to prepare all round
specialist/consultant who has achieved the competency in the field
of Dermatology, HIV Medicine& Cosmetology, who can practice
at different levels of health care delivery system. The candidate
must be highly qualified in Dermatology & Venereology diseases,
keeping with objective of the National Health Policy. The
candidate shall be abreast with the recent advances and
development in the specialty of Dermatology, Venereology &
andrology. Candidates should be oriented to the principles of
research methodology and epidemiology and must aquire high
skills in self education and to do excellent research work.
2-Intended learning outcomes (ILOs)
A_ Knowledge and understanding(KU) By the end of the programme the candidate should be able to: KU-1 . Identify a rational basis for present dermatological
,venerology&andrologist specialist-consultant practice,
KU-2 Assimilate the advances in knowledge which will occur over their

working life. KUA-3. Describe a rational basis for the prevention, diagnosis, and the
management of Dermatologic,Andrologic & Venereologic diseases. KU-4 . State the normal structure function and development of the human
skin, the interactions between the skin, the body and the mind, and
the factors that may disturb these. KU 5 . Define a detailed knowledge of the aetiology,molecular biology,
pathology, symptoms and signs, natural history and prognosis of
dermatological,Venereologic and androgenic disorders in children,
adolescents, adults and the aged. KU-6 Describe different Diagnostic procedures w i t h their indications and
limitations KU-7 . Describe how to have a good management of dermatological

committee of evaluators and completed mostly by the end of the 3th
academic year.
IV-E-: – Research Methodology
Preamble ;
The purpose of this module is to enable the trainee to obtain a practical
knowledge of conducting a research project. This will include the ability to
develop an area of interest, to search for and analyse the background on the
subject and to undertake a literature search, to define the aims and objectives of
the study, to decide on a study design, to identify the study sample, sampling
methods, sample size and to decide on methods of data collection and handling
and analysis. It will be necessary to learn to consider ethical issues. The ability to
utilize this information to prepare a research protocol will be necessary. The
construction of a timetable for the research, it’s conduction and completion
are necessary skills to acquire. Writing and presentation skills of the
research are additional benefits from this module. On completion of the

Candidates must have obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery appreciated
on or a related material estimate (good), at Master in specializati (good), at least, andArab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from another least from one of the
(Refer to Zagazig Faculty of .University Zagazig Scientific institute recognized by theMedicine By- Laws). 7- Regulations for progression and programme completion
A-six month-Course :Within the first 6 momnths from date of registeration for
MD degree,candidates must study medical statistics and computer science subjects
in order to perform an appropriate application of statistical
parametric tests and to use of computers for data storage, statistical analysis,scientific research,data presentations and power
point applications in seminars ,lectures &conferences. Upon completion of this 6-month –course,candidates should sit
to a written exam in the two subjects,medical statistics & computer science, (2 hours each) held in April &September . 7-A-1

All candidates are required to maintain a record of their procedures performed in the
clinical setting.
2. 360 Degree Evaluation Tool:
. This tool assesses candidates competencies in patient care, interpersonal and
communication skills, professionalism, practice-based learning and improvement, and
systems-based practice. Randomly selected evaluators will include staff members of
Dermatology Dept.
3. Periodic in-training evaluation of candidates should be carried out to ensure that they are making satisfactory progress.
Both formal examinations and performance ratings by the dept. can be utilized and the candidate should be personally appraised of his or her strengths and weaknesses at appropriate intervals.

1. Procedure Log
All candidates are required to maintain a record of their procedures performed in the
clinical setting.
2. 360 Degree Evaluation Tool:
. This tool assesses candidates competencies in patient care, interpersonal and
communication skills, professionalism, practice-based learning and improvement, and
systems-based practice. Randomly selected evaluators will include staff members of
Dermatology Dept.
3. Periodic in-training evaluation of candidates should be carried out to ensure that they are making satisfactory progress.
Both formal examinations and performance ratings by the dept. can be utilized and the candidate should be personally appraised of his or her strengths and weaknesses at appropriate intervals.
