Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However, Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water, and two-thirds of that is tucked away in frozen glaciers or otherwise unavailable for our use.

As a result, some 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water, and a total of 2.7 billion find water scarce for at least one month of the year. Inadequate sanitation is also a problem for 2.4 billion people—they are exposed to diseases, such as cholera and typhoid fever, and other water-borne illnesses. Two million people, mostly children, die each year from diarrheal diseases alone.

At the current consumption rate, this situation will only get worse. By 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages. The time has come to realize the need and necessity of an efficient distillation device that is not too big, and can easily generate clean water anywhere.

The PROSAVE has developed of atmospheric seawater desalination system using solar thermal energy.We can provide enough clean water in the water scarce regions of the world.

• Model HMED is new concept atmospheric pressure seawater distiller which is combined existing solar still and multi-effect distillation technology.

• Main heat source of HMED is solar energy, the use of waste heat of a diesel generator as needed.

• Multi effect distillation method of HMED maximizes fresh water production and heat efficiency by using the latent heat of condensation of evaporated water vapors.

• SMED is structured the without Basin part in HMED, and the solar energy is applied to Multi effective distiller in direct.

• Theoretically, by area 1 m² of heat collected fresh water can be made maximum 15~18L, advantages of this device is smaller than the area of HMED installed. Therefore SMED is better than performance of HMED by the cost and area installed.

• Also, because there is not the basin, assembly is simple, maintenance is easy.
