•Who would be the audience for your media product?

I would say our primary audience for our media product consists of 15-40 year old males from urban areas who often visit the cinema for mainstream and indie releases. They also will have a liking for watching crime thrillers where you have to piece parts of the story together. Since we created our film to be for a urban audience it’s not based around one defining ethnicity as we tried to bring in many elements people could relate to from living in a urban area.

•How did you attract/audience your audience?

We selected our locations to make the audience connect more with the film since a common house, tube, and typical office give it a more realistic feel.

Because of this popular sub-genre of thriller and crime, which is often seen in independent thrillers. It allows us to reach out into other areas of the film industry giving us a secondary audience of 20-35 year old females from urban areas.

Through the crime element in our film it draws in a larger female audience to watch since crime its more focussed on the psychological side of catching the criminal and finding out the reasoning for their actions then just a typical mainstream thriller that’s a one time action filled film which never really goes into the story of why this is happening.

One reason why I believe our film reaches out into so many different groups is because while we've kept some conventional traits of a thriller which everyone enjoys like the restricted narration we've also subverted a number of conventions through our opening sequence this highlights our independent company element in the film showing were trying to stand out and not be another forgettable thriller.

Another key selling point for the film is the story line since its based around hidden secrets inside the government and above. This type of story generally sells well since people like to imagine and try to relate back to what is actually happening in the real world. Also the style of the film being quite dark and sinister appeals to the older audiences of both sexes adding some realism to film as we all know the real world isn't always kind and helpful.

We took in some feedback after our rough edit of the film and from this made a few adjustments to better it for the audience's delight. After viewing our rough edit, people thought our shot lengths were too similar and could benefit from a variation in speed so for our final full production we listened to the spectators and made those changes. One of the main issues people had was our titles while people enjoyed them since they subverted the conventional thriller titles people complained they was too short and couldn't read them all so for our final piece we extended the title period to allow for reading time.Another change we made was to the audio soundtrack slightly so it was more in sync with our films footage. We also had to reshoot a number of scenes as the audience felt it looked to shaky and ruined the quality of the film. On top of this we also cut some of the protagonist's travelling time down since the audience thought it was too long and started to lose interest.

Overall our opening sequence got a good response from the audience however it was clear to me at least that it could have been a lot better. This was shown through a few pieces of feedback we received, however on the positive side of our film the majority found it gripping and highly enjoyable through the enigma codes we built up during our sequence.
