Media Evaluation-Task Seven

Page 2: Media evaluation task seven

In our preliminary task we did not use a wide range of shots, as you can see we used a long shot, mid shot and close up. These are three basic camera shots and we did not experiment with any other angles.

As you can see in our final task we had more confidence, we experimented with different camera angles including extreme close ups, longs shots, mid shots and POV shots.

• Our Preliminary task lacked theme and could easily lose the audiences attention as it used the same shots and lighting throughout. However throughout our final cut we had different angles, visual effects and sound effects which were all of the same genre and could keep the audiences attention as it is fast paced and uses a variety of effects to capture the audience.

• We had a montage for our final cut which was appropriate for our theme, however due to it being a montage we did not have to follow the 180 degree rule or continuity editing. In our opening scene after the montage we used continuity editing. This helps to show how we can film and edit different kinds of film where as in our preliminary task it was much more simple as we had less knowledge of filming and editing.

In our prelim task we used some simple forms of editing for example here we used a shot reverse shot to show the dialogue between two characters.

In both tasks we used a match on action but our lighting and editing was more consistent and was more realistic in our final cut. This shows clear development of knowledge and skill in filming and editing throughout the tasks.
