Fertility Today is the nation’s first fertility magazine written prima-rily by American Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologists andInfertility Specialists for the general public. Options in infertility can beoverwhelming. They represent very advanced medical treatments anddeeply personal decision-making. Becoming an educated health con-sumer suddenly becomes more important than ever.
Fertility Today looks at the medical, spiritual, emotional and physi-cal aspects of this condition and offers expert recommendations and/orinterpretations of the current medical practices.
There are many myths and misconceptions surrounding infertilitybeginning with its true definition. Medically, infertility is the lack of conception after one yearof unprotected intercourse if the woman is under 35 years old, or six months of unprotectedintercourse without conception if the female partner is over 35 years old. Infertility is not theinability to get pregnant after a set time of “attempting pregnancy”; it is simply unprotectedintercourse without conception.
• There are over 61 million people of reproductive age living in the United States.• Infertility affects nearly 25 percent of that population, roughly 15 million of them.• Infertility is a chronic disease that not only affects the individual but their families as well.• This translates into an affected community of at least 90 million Americans.
In fact, infertility impacts the entire social culture of America and has a significant impact onthe reduction in the average number of children per family and can prove to be a significant set-back with regards to family planning. Many men and women feel a deep sense of failure, inad-equacy and incompleteness as a man or as a woman. It is imperative that we bring infertilityawareness into the mainstream and take away the shame and negative stigma. Fertility Todayeducates the public on how to “preserve your fertility”, and what treatments are available, ifnecessary.
Our goal is to serve as the principal expert resource to women and men in areas of repro-ductive health and fertility. This goal will be realized through the dissemination of expert opin-ion based upon current standards of care and evidence-based practice of medicine regardingissues of reproductive health, reproductive psychology, ethics, and law that will ultimately serveto empower the consumer.
We are committed to fostering a market place environment that is conducive to advertisersand consumers who too seek to promote public education through their goods and services.
“America’s Leading Experts in Reproductive Medicine”
FERTILITYT DAY
What draws readers to Fertility Today?
Each month we receive letters and e-mails from Fertility Today readers expressing theirappreciation for receiving critical facts on infertility. They are thankful for the unparalleledinformation and support they have received from Fertility Today. We also seek to offer hope andcomfort to our audience, through the “My Story” and “Mind-Body-Soul” sections of the mag-azine. So, as can see, we go a step further by connecting with our reader. This generates refer-rals to friends and family members which steadily increases subscription potential and reader-ship levels.
What does this mean to potential advertisers? • It means that as America’s leading magazine in reproductive health, Fertility Today will give
you access to more than 46,000 infertility professionals and obstetricians/gynecologists.• Fertility Today will also reach more than 1,500,000 members of the general public each
issue through subscriptions, news stands, stores and via our web site. • 35,000 unique visitors monthly to our web site www.fertilitytoday.org
Fertility Today was incor-porated in May 2004. Thereis an obvious gap in the pub-lishing world when it comesto fertility. There are count-less magazines from womenand men issues, conceiving, pregnancy, childbirth, babies, children, and parenting. Yet,no magazine in the world thathas a comprehensive focusthat exclusively deals withfertility and infertility; partic-ularly written and editedprincipally by experts in thefield for the general public. The magazine’s inauguralissue was first published in July 2005, quarterly issues began disseminating expert opinion in thearea of fertility to the general public as a means of empowerment via education, in January 2006.
EditorialFertility Today magazine seeks to cover all aspects of fertility / infertility. The articles are
written primarily by doctors, attorneys, and counselors, who are nationally and internationallyacclaimed experts in their respective field. Our editorial staff and advisory board consist ofAmerican Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologists, from academic and private practice.Other distinguished members of this board are American Board Certified Maternal FetalMedicine Specialists (High Risk Obstetricians), Internists, Psychologists, Attorneys,Epidemiologists, Geneticists, and Ethicists, all of whom specialize in reproductive medicine andor law. We also have members with a unique infertility background that represents the lay public.

A Snapshot of Infertility
Fertility Today is America’s most in depth and complete fertility magazine written for menand women of reproductive age with the desire to start a family or enlarge their current familythrough natural pregnancy, adoption or other medically available means.
In the United States according to research data:
• At any time there are over 11 million couples that are either actively attempting to becomepregnant or planning on becoming pregnant.
• 1.2 million Women seek infertility treatment every year.• There are over 61.6 million people of reproductive age living in the United States.• Infertility affects nearly 25 percent of that population, roughly 15 million of them.• Infertility is a chronic disease that not only affects the individual but their families as well
(parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc).• This translates into an affected community of at least 90 million Americans (6 other fam-
ily members of the couple).• FT will give you access to more than 46,000 infertility professionals and
obstetricians/gynecologists. There are only about 709 Reproductive Endocrinologists?• FT will also reach more than 1,500,000 members of the general public each issue through
subscriptions, new stands, stores and via our website.• With couples starting families at a later age, the increase in the age-related infertility cases,
ovulation dysfunctions and a variety of STDs along with other medical and social factors, accounts for the largest causes. One in 7 couples is infertility, thus you probably know ofat least one infertile couple within your small circle of friends.
• In 35-40% of the cases, the man is infertile, while in another 35-40% the woman is infer-tile. In another 10-20% it is a combination of the man and women, and in the final 10%the cause of infertility is unknown.
• According to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), there are 499Reproductive Endocrinologists and Infertility Specialist office practices, seeing an averageof 2,821 unique patients a year for a total of approximately 2 million patients.
