Auburn, Ala. (April 1) – An Auburn University Writing for Public Relations class was selected as one of six other SEC schools to participate in AT&T U-‐verse’s brand challenge. Each university created a marketing agency that developed and implemented a detailed campaign from research to event implementation. The campaigns were to focus on increasing awareness and sales for AT&T U-‐verse and also promoting the new SEC network, airing in the fall. Auburn’s Writing for Public Relations class named themselves War Eagle Communications and generated a very strategic marketing plan for the brand challenge. War Eagle Communications first step was to analyze the market by doing extensive research surveys. After analyzing the research, a strategic campaign was created to uniquely fit the Auburn area. The campaign to educate people on AT&T U-‐verse services, discounts and features was geared toward college students and alumni of Auburn University. AT&T U-‐verse contributed $3,000 to every team so that an event can be planned for each team’s target markets. War Eagle Communications was able to create an SEC tailgate to draw people in and learn more about AT&T U-‐verse and the SEC Network. “Our tailgate was a great success and we are very proud of our campaign results,” said Morgan Gamble, strategy and implementation department head. After the event, War Eagle Communications conducted post campaign research to see how much the awareness of AT&T U-‐verse increased in Auburn and the surrounding areas. The entire process was summarized and discussed in a final presentation to AT&T explaining the successes of the campaign. About AT&T U-‐verse AT&T U-‐verse leads major cable providers in customer satisfaction. AT&T is also a leading provider of Wi-‐Fi and high speed Internet. U-‐verse offers many different unique features and wireless discounts and is one of two providers that will be launching the new SEC network in the fall.
