The main image is a medium close up shot of the band avenged sevenfold. The picture is focusing to there faces which links to the main story of how there had to cope with there lose. Also it also works as a frame for the cover of the magazine to arrange the other pictures and subheadings.

The logo ‘Kerrang’ is conventional to the magazine because it is part of the house style. The logo is underneath the main image of the band avenged sevenfold, this is effective because it shows how confident they by covering up some of the logo.

The splash has been placed across the main picture so that it draws the readers attention to the main story of the magazine. Also it makes the page look more organised because the colour of the splash is the same colour of the logo.

The pug is one of the features of the magazine which makes the ‘kerrang’ magazine more interesting.

This is another feature of the magazine which is essential to

the magazine.

These three sub pictures are there to advertise the posters that are in the magazine. This makes the magazine more interesting and draws the readers eyes to that and when they read it. It makes them want to buy the magazine.

This is called a tag line, it adds the little bit more information to the main splash.

The image of the ‘automatics’ is the main image of the magazine cover. This image is a medium shot. It ties in with the type of style the splash is in, as you can see the picture of ‘the automatic’ is posed as weird and different and ‘NME’ has chosen to make the splash as weird and different.

The logo ‘NME’ is conventional to the magazine because it is part of the house style. Some of the logo is underneath the main image of the band the automatics, this is effective because it shows how confident they by covering up some of the logo. It also draws out the main image more.

The bar code is conventional to the magazine and essential to the magazine as well.

The Splash is been placed in one of the members hands which gives the magazine a feeling like there trying to reach out and give you something which really draws the attention to the reader. The splash for this cover is unconventional because this splash is different from what ‘NME’ normally do.

The main image is of a band called ‘Kasabian‘ which is shown with a long shot. Also they have put the guitar on fire which matches the tag line ‘they’re on fire’ which adds abit of comedy to the magazine.
