Firstly I got my image

Then I cut it out with the pen tool

This was because the background didn’t really suite my genre

I then drawn a red rectangle and added white text into the box, this design was inspired by popular hip hop magazines such as xxl

I then move the picture layer in front of the rectangle box and text

I then added more text and chose a different font and planned to add more fx to the text later the special issue was to try attract people

I then used another red rectangle shape around white writing to keep the theme of the magazine and is similar to some popular magazine designs

I used the rectangle tool to draw some black rectangles with white writing again I seen a similar hip hop magazine with this style then I also went on to place a barcode

I then added a stroke through the fx to D-Hip hop test to make it stand out

Then I added an outer glow to the image using effects and changed it to a more opaque colour of the logo to keep with the theme

For this I added a drop shadow changed the colour to purple and moved the distance

Again I used a drop shadow and made it red and slightly moved the distance

I then added a shape using the rectangle tool and changed it to colour yellow to catch peoples eyes then clicked on fx to add a stroke which created a black boarder around the shape

I then added bold text to make it into a strapline this was to give people an idea what’s inside and is similar to popular magazine conventions

I then added a banner I done this using the rectangle tool using then selecting free transform and rotating it

I added a white glow to make this stand out on the banner

I then added a star like shape using a custom shape tool and added a stroke around it to add the red outline around it

The I added text this was to draw people eyes towards what’s in the magazine

I then added a pentagon shape added a stroke and bevel and boss this was to make it stand out

I then added a plus to try attract people even more and is popular to other magazines
