“ You have been commissioned by the northern echo to produce a new magazine or newspaper product. Your product could be in any style, or gender, but it must be self financed through sales or advertising. You must also product your magazine for a specific
audience segment within the 16-25 age group. ”
HOW AM I GOING TO MEET THIS BRIEF?
To meet this brief, I will have to complete the following objectives:
Ensure product is commercially viable, and self financed.

WHY HEALTH AND FITNESS?
TAILORING MY MAGAZINE TO MY PRIMARY AUDIENCE’S NEEDS
• Heavy image to text ratio.
• Ensure the content is useful, factual, and interesting.
• Use fonts and colours that my target audience would be attracted by.
• Advertise products that my target audience will be interested in.
• Use the ‘window to the future self’ on the front cover.

“I especially like the fonts used in this DPS, it is very basic, however very effective.”
This is my first mock up that I designed, here is a few bits of feedback I got on this product:

“The colour scheme on the first layout suits the article a lot more as the blue and white show the article is about being clean and eating fresh and healthy.”“The shadowing on the images
really make them stand out, this gives a good bold feel to the images as the rest of the DPS is very light”
“I like the images, however the spacing is a bit too much, you should have blown up a large image and covered half a page for example”.

1st DPS – Eat Clean, Get Lean
I will use the feedback based off my mock up of this article to correct the negative feedback that I got in the mock up testing. Which in this case, will be:
• Spacing out text
• Blowing up one image to cover most of a page
• Clean colours with connotations to text (light blues, whites, light reds)
• Clean basic fonts (century gothic)
