A detailed account for my production through my magazine coursework. This was first time using a blog so I started with quite a lack of knowledge on how to use one. Even something as simple as uploading a picture was a task but as the weeks went past I learnt how to embed audio and video files onto the blog. This has made me become more familiar with the blog allowing me to work efficiently when given a task to do on it.
The Blog

Adobe Audition
I used this to upload my recordings from my Focus Groups Questions from the Edirol and edited the pieces of audio so I had only the bits I needed or that had the most information. This was also my first time using Adobe Audition so I gained a considerable number of editing skills. When I finished editing the audio pieces I upload them to www.edublogs.tv where I could then embed them to my blog.

This is the recording device I use to record my Focus Group questions onto.

Adobe PhotoshopI used Adobe Photoshop to alter and edit my front page, contents page and main article. I have learnt a considerable number of new Photoshop skills including how to resize and manipulate photos text. Here are my preliminary pages and next to them are the final magazine pages. I’ve learnt a lot since the preliminaries.

UploadingI used these sites to upload my presentations and audio files to my blog. I did this by uploading the files to the site and copying an pasting the embed code so it would show up on my blog.

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word was used to type up my main article. I was able to check for spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and edit the font size so it would be easy enough to read when transferred to the Photoshop version.

Microsoft Powerpoint
This was used to create presentations and create catalogues of all my research into simple slideshows. This made my blog look neater and not so cluttered up with words everywhere.

Microsoft Excel
I used Microsoft Excel to develop charts for my Audience Questionnaires. I felt this was an accurate piece of software to use because it was able to calculate percentages for my categories which made the process a whole lot smoother.

HTC Hero Mobile Phone
Before After
I did not have Photoshop at home, so I lost time that could’ve been spent on the magazine. There were several pictures I took on my phone I decided to play around with since the phone has a mini version of Photoshop. It was very limited but allowed to create a picture which I would've considered to use on my contents page.
