I am producing a news broadcast in the same format as current news

programs. I will use the same codes and conventions as current newsprograms like bbc news. I am going to create a special report on a certainsubject in the news. I have chosen to do the tennis grand slam the us open.In this special report I will discuss the matches and look at the topcontenders to win the grand slam tournament.

The target audience would be for all sports fans but specifically tennisfans. Tennis over the past decade has become very popular which hasattracted more people to watch it. Also the fact that there is a Britishplayer competing in grand slams and going deep into the tournament givesus the belief finally a British player may win a grand slam. Also the factthat this is a golden era in tennis attracts more people to watch the

rivalries of the top 4 players in the world, and most pundits and tennis fanswould agree in this era we have the greatest player of all time rogerfederer, there is also Rafael nadal who could over take roger federer tobecome the greatest player of all time. Also we Novak djokovic who isbreaking into the top 2 in the world and challenging nadal and federer, andlastly we have Andy Murray who is the best British player since Fred Perrywhich gives the British public hope we can have a grand slam champion.

I will creating a special report on the upcoming tennis grand slam the usopen. I will discuss the contenders to win the tournament, the outsiders,have a brief analysis of the matches of the top 4 players to give tennisfans an insight on what's happening in the us open.

Ofcom is required to under the Broadcasting Act 1996 ("the 1996 Act")to draw up a code for television and radio, covering standards inprogrammes, sponsorship, product placement in televisionprogrammes, fairness and privacy. This Code is to be known as theOfcom Broadcasting Code. When making a factual program the makerof one has to be aware of this code or they will be punished for notabiding to this code.

one part of the Ofcom broadcasting act is protecting child under theage of eighteen, the main points are Material that might seriouslyimpair the physical, mental or moral development of people undereighteen must not be broadcast and broadcasters must take allreasonable steps to protect people under eighteen.The most common example of this act is taking place is when you

cannot film children under the age of eighteen who committed a crimeso there face is blurred to protect them, also with adults who commitcrimes there face is sometimes blurred so they are protected.

Target audience- my target audience demographic would be lower middleclass and middle class people. My psychographic would be mainstreamers/conformists. My target audience will be people aged 15-35 years old.This is because my program is aimed at tennis fans who understandtennis. Also it is for people who follow tennis all year who are aware of what is happening in tennis all year. So you need to have some knowledgeof tennis when watching this special report. For my research process Ihave firstly followed tennis this whole year, this was the easy part of myresearch process as I am already a tennis fan so I follow the matchesanyway. Also I paid attention to the pundits discussing matches beforeand after a match to get an opinion from the experts. I also watched skysports news special report on Wimbledon this year to see what contentthey have in their reports. The sort of questions I would ask is.

Who do you think will win the us open?Who are the contenders to win it this year?Who do you think is in the best form coming in to this us open?

When I started my research I made sure I was update with everything todo with tennis, I have watch tennis regularly from grand slams to masters1000s. I watch analysis of the tennis matches before and after to get theview of the experts and I will incorporate this into my special report. Ithinking of using twitter with people asking questions on the show aboutthe tennis. I want to incorporate social networking into my special reportso that everyone can be involved in the discussion of the tennis.

As I am doing a tennis special report on the us I thought I could havetennis courts in the background to relate it to the program. Theselocation recces show different angles of a tennis court I could use. Ialso could use a green screen and add a background with pictures atthe top of the screen to make my special report like a real newsreport.

In my special report I will have the reporter in the studio to update on the

news at the us open and the results. I will have a field reporter in a differentlocation to get predictions from people going to watch the match, the weatherforecast, give opinion on who will win the match and how the conditions willaffect the match. I will film the report and Ill edit the raw footage to make thereport professional and look like a news program. When the reporter in adifferent location finishes their report I will link it back the studio to make it feellike a news report.
