Invitation

Dr. Thomas Feigl Managing DirectorForum MedTech Pharma e.V.

Prof. Dr. med. Michael Nerlich Chairman of the BoardForum MedTech Pharma e.V.

Prof. Dr. Josef NassauerManaging DirectorBayern Innovativ GmbH

The health sector is an important economic fac-tor in Bavaria, Germany and internationally. On-going developments and innovations in medical and pharmaceutical technology and an aging population are creating increasing opportunities for growth.

The realisation of innovations, requires more than ever before, networking throughout professional disciplines and with partners along the value chain, from the scientific knowledge to technical implementation, clinical trials and mar-ket introduction.

The Forum MedTech Pharma was initiated in 1998 in Bavaria and has grown with over 600 members from 13 countries to become one of the most important networks in the health sec-tor in Europe.

The agency is Bayern Innovativ GmbH, centre for technology transfer and management of co-operation networks of Bavaria. They have estab-lished sustainable industry network structures in ten interdisciplinary fields of technologies.

Together they create and organise the con-gress ”MedTech Pharma – Medizin Innovativ“, which has become one of the most important events for the healthcare industry. They reunite in July 2012 about 1,000 researchers, developers, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and clinical users of the medtech and pharma sector and will be supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology.

The congress focuses on innovations that represent the key to success in a challenging international environment. The continuous im-plementation of new technologies and solutions improves the success of medical treatments, creates new possibilities of therapy for not yet

controllable diseases and ensures the best pos-sible cost efficiency and international competi-tiveness.

The congress as an interdisciplinary and transsectoral information and interaction plat-form which will make an effective contribution to the high innovation dynamics of these fields and to the future success of the medical field. Inno-vative solutions and best practice examples will be presented and discussed in high level lectures, the topics of which are MIS & Endoscopy, Smart Medical Devices, Future Hospital, Biomaterials, Diagnostics and Targeted Therapy.

The BMBF-Symposium “Medi-WING – Medi-cal technology within the BMBF Framework Pro-gramme WING“ is integrated into the congress (BMBF - Federal Ministry of Education and Re-search). The symposium focuses on Efficient Drug Delivery, Functional Disposables and Bioactive Implants. In addition, the congress is an exchange network for three active Leading-Edge Clusters within the health sector: Medical Valley EMN, Munich Biotech Cluster m4 and MicroTec Südwest. A large exhibition provides space for the presen-tation of innovative products and solutions.

Congress participants from the fields of in-dustry and science, medical technology and phar-maceuticals, development and clinical applica-tions plus funding agencies are given the perfect environment to obtain the latest information in their fields and to do quality networking and ex-change experiences for future innovations.

We invite you to join us at the Congress MedTechPharma2012 in Nuremberg!
