By 2014, handset-based smart phones and mobile phones will jointly hold an 80% market share of navigation units shipped. PNDs will be down to just 10% and in-dash navigation at around 6% - iSuppliIn 2009 the economy slowed down and the industry suffered from a severe slump in consumer spending. As a result, finding the right business models and extending your reach to consumers is more important than ever before. 2009 was also the break through year for connected navigation, which has now spurred on all segments in the market.

It has therefore become vital for traditional navigation players to find new strategies and business models in order to keep their market alive. How can they take advantage of connected services as a growth market and keep up with the boom in smartphone navigation?

New navigation landscape is shifting constantly; the PND market is expected to stagnate and PND manufacturers such as TomTom and Navigon, have started to increasingly invest in software for the iPhone and smart phone navigation market and are extending their partnerships with in-dash navigation providers. Navigation Day @ CeBIT will be the place to discuss the evolution of these business models and get success stories and ideas from the key players.

Google’s recent announcement of free ad-financed navigation raises new questions and puts pressure on the market. At Navigation Day @ CeBIT you will uncover exactly how this will affect the market in Europe and how your business can ride the wave of disruption.

Mobile and smart phone navigation is growing substantially and, according to Berg Insight, mobile navigation users in Europe have increased to 28 million, which corresponds to a twofold increase in 2008-2009. Content providers are building new location based services and increasingly extending them to all places where people are using them.

Navigation Day @ CeBIT will be back on 5 March 2010 after the 150 delegates sell out conference in March 2009. The event will take place within the CeBIT exhibition area in Hannover and is the forum for the top European companies in navigation.

The Navigation Day @ CeBIT is the meeting place for the industry leaders in navigation to debate, network and pinpoint the critical strategies, which will push the industry forward in 2010.

The speaker line-up reflects the who’s who in navigation, including Garmin, Nokia, TomTom, Tele Atlas, Ford, ALK, Navigon, Vodafone, Navteq, T-Mobile, INRIX, Wcities, Gypsii ... You are guaranteed to get direct access to the people who actually matter. Take your place amongst the industry movers and shakers and ensure your company is represented.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to build crucial partnerships and ensure your company’s success for the coming years. Leave the event with all the necessary information, contacts and tools in order to be prepared for the challenges of 2010.
