Sean Brown – Managing Director Hi, I’m Sean and I started our business in 2010 with a pen and a piece of paper. I didn’t borrow money from banks or look for private finance, but with sheer will and determination and the support of my family, our business is growing well. My background is as a hotelier, having worked my way from waiter to General Manager, from bars to 5* hotels, I have seen it all and loved every minute of it. I was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne from a working class back ground and going out to work was not just expected, it was needed and that work ethic has stood me in good stead during the early stages of the business. I like doing business with real people, be it my team or our clients and want to create a family feel of a business, no matter how large we grow My passions are Newcastle United, summers with the family, boys nights out and food These are tough times, so lets do business and make friendships that are for the long term

Simon Bromyard – Operations Director

Hi, I’m Simon and I look after the operations of the business. That means ensuring our event managers, event coordinators and associated teams, have the tools, training and environment to carry their roles to the very best of their ability. I support our event management projects and ensure best practice within the business.

Originally from the bright lights of Nottingham, I have spent time in Dubai and Bahrain and am married to Joanne and we have one son Joseph who keeps us busy.

This summer our family are hiring camper vans and travelling to the lake district and I can’t wait. Other things I enjoy are singing and I have won several karaoke competitions and hijacked many a party – my favourite song is These arms of mine by Otis Redding and I also support Nottingham Forest FC

I look forward to meeting you at an event we plan together

Cheers, Simon

Camilla Bailey – Business Development Executive

Hi, I’m Camilla and my role at Browns Venues and Events is to develop strong relationships with our partners and ensure we provide continued communication. I host client events and spend time travelling to our clients offices to bring them lovely homemade cupcakes I stayed up until midnight to make – I love it really!

Like all of the operational team at Browns, I have previously worked at a venue, where I was involved in conference coordination, wedding planning and business development for the venue. This has really stood me in good stead now I am on the other side of the fence.

If there is one perk of the job I love, it is getting to stay in some lovely hotels and being pampered. My favourites are Chewton Glen and The Manor House in Castle Coombe, modern facilities but in traditional buildings

I am just overcoming my fear of flying and managed to fly to Frankfurt for an event in May without having to hold the air stewardesses hand!

I look forward to continuing my journey with Browns Venues and Events

Megan Macleod – Sales & Marketing Director

Hi, I’m Megan and my role is varied, but includes managing key accounts at Browns Venues and Events, ensuring the potential is fulfilled and managing a field based team of Business Development Executives.

I am also responsible for developing marketing and our brand and that’s where the creative side comes out in me.

I am originally from Australia and do miss the sun, Christmas is my favourite time, when I get to go back and spend a month with family by the beach. I do love England though, especially your breakfasts, sense of humour and willingness to have a bbq in any weather!

My role means I travel a lot up and down the country and spend a lot of time in hotels and not all of them are great. My worst experience was having someone come into my room in the middle of the night having been given the wrong key to their room – they quickly left when my high pitched squeal bellowed at them.

Here’s to building friendships and business in equal measures
