The committee has put in so much effort and I am certain it will be enjoyed by all. Retreats are one of my favourite things! Lots of sewing and visiting and no cooking or telephones. Retreats create a great opportunity to get to know other quilters. My morning drive through the countryside today was absolutely amazing!! Brilliant sunshine on the last of the yellow, orange and red leaves creates an inspiring palette. Wear your Poppy to our November 11 meeting. PROGRAM – Melanie Douglas, Karen Johnstone, Vicki Harris, Maggie McEntee At the beginning of the meeting we will hear from Heather King, CEO of Norfolk Public Libraries. She will bring a message of remembrance called Norfolk Remembers. Following this presentation, the Program Committee has prepared for each attendee at the Guild meeting to receive two felted wool Christmas ornaments. One is a round snowman face and the other is a green Christmas tree. We will set aside time of about 25 minutes to work on creating the ornaments with hand sewing and embellishments. We recommend each guild member bring their own hand embroidery needles and embroidery floss, although a good selection will be available. Please bring scissors and any small decorations you have, especially for the tree ornament. (suggestions: braid, lace, small buttons, small bells etc.) Each guild member will receive one tree and one snowman. They can be worked on and/or finished at home. A Show and Tell will take place at the December meeting. Please bring your finished products then NEWSLETTER – Jan Zehr, Debra Featherstone The next issue of the newsletter will be sent to members one week prior to the meeting and all reports should be emailed to us no later than November 28, 2019. Thanks.
