BEYOND THE SUNSET

Should you go first and I remain,to walk the road alone,

I'll live in memories garden, dear, with happy days we've known.

In spring I'll wait for roses red, whenfaded, the lilacs blue.

In early fall when brown leaves fall,I'll catch a glimpse of you.

I'll hear your voice, I'll see yoursmile, tho blindly I may grope,

The memory of your helping handwill buoy me on with hope.

Should you go first and I remain, one thing I'll have you do:

Walk slowly down that long longpath, for soon I'll follow you.

I want to know each step you take,So I may take the same.

For someday down that lonely road, you'll hear me call your name.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall notwant. He maketh me to lie down in greenpastures: He leadeth me beside stillwaters. He restoreth my soul; He leadethme in the paths of righteousness for Hisname's sake. Yea, though I walk throughthe valley of the shadow of death, I willfear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thyrod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thoupreparest a table before me in thepresence of mine enemies; Thouanointest my head with oil; my cuprunneth over. Surely goodness andmercy shall follow me all the days of mylife; and I will dwell in the house of theLord forever.

Your gentle face and patient smile,With sadness we recall.

You had a kindly word for eachAnd died beloved by all.

The voice is mute and stilled the heartThat loved us well and true.

Ah, bitter was the trial to partFrom one as good as you.

You are not forgotten loved one,Nor will you ever be.

As long as life and memory lastWe will remember thee.

We miss you now, our hearts are sore,As time goes by we miss you more.Your loving smile, your gentle faceNo one can fill your vacant place.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.Where there is hatred, let me sow LoveWhere there is injury, pardon,Where there is doubt, faith,Where there is despair, hope,Where there is darkness, lightand where there is sadness, joy.O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand. To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive-It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

May you always walk in sunshine andGod's love around you flow, for thehappiness you gave us, no one will everknow. It broke our hearts to lose you, butyou did not go alone, a part of us wentwith you the day God called you home. Amillion times we've needed you, a milliontimes we've cried. If love could only havesaved you.You never would have died.

The Lord be with youAnd May You Rest in Peace. Amen

Fill not your hearts with pain andsorrow, but remember me in everytomorrow. Remember the joy, the

laughter, the smiles. I've only gone torest a while. Although my leaving

causes pain and grief, my going haseased my heart and given me relief. Sodry your eyes and remember me, not a

I am but as I used to be. Because,I will remember you all and look on with a

smile. Understand in your hearts, I'veonly gone to rest awhile. As long as Ihave the love of you, I can live my life

in the hearts of all of you.

I Said a Prayer for You Today

I said a prayer for you today, and know God must have heard.

I felt the answer in my heart, although He spoke no word.

I didn't ask for wealth or fame(I knew he wouldn't mind).

I asked Him to send treasuresof a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He'd be near youat the start of each new day;

To grant you health and bessingsand friends to share your way.I asked for happiness for youin all things great and small. But it was for His loving care

I prayed the most of all!

In Loving Memory ofAlice B. Sullivan

PEACE

May peace be ever in your soulThrough fortune, smile or frown,No matter how far up you climb,

Or low you tumble down.May peace be yours in brilliant dawn,

And in grey twilight blue,When stars in splendor, all appear,

Or sky is darkest hue.May peace fill all your sunshine days,

And all your dark ones, too,When honors come and smile at you,

Or sorrows pierce you through. And when the last sweet, clarion call

Tells you this life is over,May Christ, our God, the King of Peace

Meet you on a peaceful shore.

Page 9: MEMORIAL PRAYER CARDS - paulcrogersFor someday down that lonely road, you'll hear me call your name. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

Do not stand at my grave and weep,I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.I am the diamond glints on snow.I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the autumn rain. When you awake in the morning's

hush,I am the swift uplifting rush,

of quiet birds in circled flight.I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.I am not there. I did not die.

When I must leave you for a little while -Please do not grieve

And hug your sorrow to you throughthe years, But start out bravelywith a gallant smile: And for

my sake and in my namelive on and do all thingsthe same. Feed not your

loneliness on empty days, butfill each working hour in useful

ways. Reach out your handin comfort and in cheer

And I in turn will comfort youand hold you near; And never,

never be afraid to die,For I am waiting for you in the sky!

You toiled so hard for those you loved. You said goodbye to none,

Your spirit flew before we knew,Your work on earth was done.

We miss you now, our hearts are sore,As time goes by we miss you more.Your loving smile, your gentle face;No one can fill your vacant place.

Your life was love and labor,Your love for your family true,You did the best for all of us,

We will always remember you.

God saw you getting tiredAnd a cure was not to be

So He put His arms around youAnd whispered, "Come to Me".A golden heart stopped beating

Hard working hands at restGod broke our hearts

To prove to usHe only takes the best.

A light is from our household goneA voice we loved is stilled,

A place is vacant in our homeWhich never can be filled.

God gave us a beautiful father -A father who never grew old

You were always there with a helpingHand. Help us now to accept His plan.We miss you now, our hearts are soreAs time goes by, we miss you moreYour loving smile, your gentle face

No one can take our "Father's place".May the Choirs of the Angels

receive you and may you have restand peace everlasting. Amen

AN IRISH BELSSING

May the road rise tomeet you,

May the windbe always at your back.

May the sunshine warm upon your face,

The rains fallsoft upon your fields,

And until we meetagain May God hold youin the palm of His hand.

AFTERGLOW

I'd like the memory of meto be a happy one,

I'd like to leave an afterglowof smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echowhispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing timesand bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve,to dry before the sun

Of happy memories that I leaveWhen life is done.

God looked around His gardenAnd found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth,And saw your tired face.He put His arms around youAnd lifted you to rest.God's garden must be beautifulHe always takes the best.He saw the road was getting rough,And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids,And whispered, "Peace be thine."It broke our hearts to lose youBut you did not go aloneFor part of us went with you,The day God called you home.

Page 10: MEMORIAL PRAYER CARDS - paulcrogersFor someday down that lonely road, you'll hear me call your name. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

The blow was great, the shock severe,We little thought the end was near,And only those who have lost can tellThe pain of parting without farewell. It broke our hearts to lose you.But you did not go alone,A part of us went with you,The day God called you home.Nothing can ever take away,The love a heart holds dear,Fond memories linger every day,Remembrances keep her near.

We sat beside your bedside,Our hearts were crushed and sore;We did our best to the end, "Til we could do no more.In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will Forget you Father dear.

LIFE

Life is but a stopping place,A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the roadto sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,Different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learnsome things,

But never meant to stay. Our destination is a placefar greater than we know,

For some, the journey's quicker,For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,We'll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,Together with the Lord.

A bouquet of beautiful memories,Sprayed with a million tears,

Wishing God could have spared you,If just for a few more years.

It does not take a special day,For us to think of you,Each Mass we hear,Each prayer we say,Is offered up for you.

We cannot bring the old days back,When we were all together,

Our family chain is broken now,But memories live forever.

SAFE IN THE KEEPINGOF GOD

I am Home in Heaven, dear ones,Oh! so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beautyIn this Everlasting Light.

All the pain and grief are over!Every restless yearning past;I am now at peace forever,

Safely Home in Heaven at last.Dear one, do not grieve so sorely,

For I love you dearly still;Try to look beyond earth's shadows,

Pray to trust Our Father's Will.When your work is completed,He will gently call you Home;

Oh! the rapture of that meeting!Oh, the joy to see you come.

You can only have one mother,Patient, kind and true.

No other friend in all the world,Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,To mother you will turn,

For all her loving kindness,She asks nothing in return. As I look upon her picture,Sweet memories I recall,

Of a face so full of sunshine,And a smile for one and all.

Sweet Jesus, take this message,To my dear mother up above;

Tell her how I miss her,And give her all my love.

When I am gone, release me, let me go Ihave so many things to see and do.Youmust not tie yourself to me with tears, behappy that we had so many years. I gaveyou my love, you can only guess howmuch you gave me in happiness. But nowit's time I traveled alone. So grieve a whilefor me if grieve you must then let yourgrief be comforted by trust. It is only fora while that we must part so bless thememories within your heart. I won't be faraway, for life goes on so if you need me,call and I will come. Though you can't seeor touch me, I will be near- and if you listenwith your heart, you'll hear all of my lovearound soft and clear. And then, when youmust come this way alone, I will greet youwith a smile and"Welcome home.”

Don’t grieve for me‚ for now I’m free!I follow the path God laid for me.I saw His face‚ I heard His call‚I took his hand and left it all…I could not stay another day‚

To love‚ to laugh‚ to work or play;Tasks left undone must stay that way‚

And if my parting has left a void‚Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared‚ a laugh‚ a kiss…Ah yes‚ these things I too‚ shall miss.

My life’s been full‚ I’ve savoured much;Good times‚ good friends‚ a loved

one’s touch.Perhaps my time seemed all too brief -Don’t shorten yours with undue grief.Be not burdened with tears of sorrow‚

Enjoy the sunshine of tomorrow.

If tears could build a stairway,And memories were a lane,

We would walk right up to HeavenAnd bring you home again.

No farewell words were spoken,No time to say goodbye,

You were gone before we knew it,And only God knows why.

Our hearts still ache in sadness,And secret tears will flow,What it meant to lose you,

No one will ever know. But now we know you want us

To mourn for you no more,To remember all the happy times

Life still has much in store.Since you'll never be forgotten

We pledge to you today,A hallowed place within our hearts

Is where you'll always stay.

God saw you getting tiredAnd a cure was not to be

So He put His arms around youAnd whispered, "Come to Me".A golden heart stopped beating

Hard working hands at restGod broke our hearts

To prove to usHe only takes the best.
