Presidents Message
Page 2
I am writing this message two days before Thanksgiving and it’s for the December Newsletter. OMG!!!!! where did the time go? We are at the end of the year. December brings Holiday festivities with our Corvette Family, such as the President’s Cocktail Party (flyer on website) on December 2, 2017 on behalf of the Corvette Club’s Charity campaign for Toys for Tots. Whenever I have a gathering at my home, it is all about laughter, lots of music and just enjoying everyone’s company. Our Annual CCRI Christmas Gala on December 16th is also right around the corner at the Quidnesett Country Club, (flyer also on website). A wonderful evening with our Corvette family. Please consider coming whether you are alone or a couple, it is a wonderful time to celebrate the Holiday together. Payments will be taken at our next meeting and must be paid in full prior to the event. Our last meeting for 2017 is TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2017. This meeting is our VOTING MEETING. The Board of Directors will be giving Linda Nelson a break with pastry for everyone to enjoy. They won’t be as good as home baked as Linda’s baking is always nothing less than “scrumptious “. This meeting is very important and we hope that you will consider attending in order to Vote for your new BOARD OF DIRECTORS (2018). There will be a separate email on your nominated candidates for our Members to review. When reviewing the biographies, please keep in mind and ask yourself, who will move the Club in the direction of progression, growth, continue with positive comradery and work for “YOU” the MEMBERS. As your President it has been an honor to work alongside some pretty wonderful individuals that have supported me as your President and have guided me through the entire process while taking my vision for the club and making it happen. I cannot thank the Members and Members of the Board enough that took the time out of their busy schedules to attended all our car shows, all our events, and supported our sister clubs. Your next Board of Directors should be individuals that have the passion, the time, the will, respect and professionalism to work for “YOU” the Members. It came apparent that you cannot make everyone happy and that everyone has a “VOICE”. I feel that we listened to every single “VOICE”, and worked together as a team to “try” to make everyone happy. It was so important to me and was expressed at every Board Meeting that we do nothing but keep positivity within our Club and negativity OUT. The individuals you VOTE for must have big arms to welcome and make new MEMBERS feel comfortable and a part of this incredible Corvette Family. It is not easy walking into a room of strangers. It is important to make every new member feel that they are a part of a large group of car enthusiasts that enjoy being with each other, and make them feel a part of our family. The year 2017 did not start as we expected and it was a rough and rocky road, but through it all we had an accomplished fun filled year. Your next Board of Directors must be able to not only drive a Corvette through smooth winding roads, but must be able to drive a Semi-Tractor Trailer through wind, rain and snow, and sometimes even roads that have such ROAD BLOCKS that you shake your head and think “NOW WHAT”? Always keeping cool, calm and collected and never lose your patience, your kindness or why you are PRESIDENT or a Member of this Board. You are there for the MEMBERS ONLY! SO PLEASE COME OUT TO VOTE BECAUSE YOUR “VOTE” MATTERS. I am looking forward to spending the Holiday festivities with my Corvette family. To our sister Clubs who are read-ing this President’s Message, thank you for a wonderful year together. From my family to your family – GOD BLESS, LOVE THE ONE YOU ARE WITH, ALWAYS SAY I LOVE YOU AS TOMORROW IS NEVER PROMISED AND EVERY DAY IS A BLESSING. CONTINUED PRAYERS TO MEMBERS THAT ARE GOING THROUGH LIFE’S CHALLENGES – OUR PRAYERS ARE CONSTANT FOR OUR MEMBERS. ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND MYSELF HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS. SAVE THE WAVE ALWAYS WITH ANGELS ON WHEELS LILIANA V. DOLAN, PRESIDENT CORVETTE CLUB OF RHODE ISLAND
