GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE B rother Knights, As 2016 comes a close, it is a good time to reflect on the past year and think about what goals were achieved and what challenges we had during the year. A good time to reflect on what we could have done to better reflect what our Catholic Christian values encompass. A good time to set new goals for the 2017 year and see where we can put the action into our faith; our Church needs many volunteers and a great place to start if you have a spare hour or two a week is to spend an hour at the adoration chapel each week. A big thank you for all the donations that were brought to our November meeting to give to North Kent Services. As we know, the need for donations exist daily; many, many people utilize North Kent for food and living needs. For our December meeting lets once again show our support for the needy and bring donations (cash or non perishable items) Thank you to Thom Arends for dropping off the November donations. Our 2nd annual Christmas party will be held on December 17th at the Kateri Lodge at 7pm. This was a lot of fun last year; we will have food, beverages, Christmas music and many games and card games to play. We would like to ask again for donations to North Kent Services as we did last year, and bring a dessert dish to pass as well. Invite family members and friends if you wish, lets fill up the Kateri lodge and celebrate the Christmas Holiday together! Lastly, if you haven't decided on a dessert for Christmas yet, we have Christmas Pies for sale! Order now on our website or send me an email. We have a lot of them. Vivat Jesus! Larry Denhof . THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

As we near the time of Christmas, we see thedecorations going up, the people fervently shoppingfor gifts, the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.

This is the time to make sure we do not loose sight of theimportance of the time that approaches. Now is the time to stopand reflect just why we really celebrate this time. As Christians,we know the real meaning of Christmas and why it is a time forcelebration and what that celebration means to all who believe. Ifthere was no Jesus, there would be no Christmas. Jesus IS thereason for the season!

The things we all know to be true are often lost in that hustleand bustle, lost in those decorations, lost in those holiday feastslost in those wonderful gifts.

As we all lay down in our warm beds on Christmas Eve thinknot of gifts and feasts. Think of a small infant asleep in a mangeron a cold bed of straw. Think of two desperate would-be parentswho were turned away at the Inn. Think of Three wise men whotraveled over great distances to greet the King of Kings on thenight of his birth.
