Message from the Chairman/Boodskap van die Voorsitter

The year is rapidly drawing to a close and I see many

residents getting ready to go on vacation. The

gardens are looking attractive and I commend

residents who are enthusiastically spending time

planting and trimming. It really makes a difference to

our estate. A word of caution: Level 2 water

restrictions are being implemented as from 1 January

and we appeal to each resident to cut consumption

by 10%, otherwise the cost of water consumption will

increase substantially. The estate will also make every

effort to cut back on consumption in common areas, without compromising on

the beauty of our gardens. Make sure that all taps on your property are securely

closed and set your irrigation system to start very early in the morning to get the

optimal benefit – water is precious.

Dit was ’n bedrywige jaar en die grootste veranderinge was sekerlik die

opgradering van die ingang en tuine plus die opgradering van die elektriese

heining. Ons bedank al ons inwoners vir hulle geduld, dit was beslis die moeite

werd! Ons sal voortgaan om die tuine te verbeter en ek wil graag vir Felicity

Neethling, Yvonne Neethling en Anna-Marié Louw bedank vir hulle harde werk

en toewyding. Ek moet julle gelukwens, die tuine lyk pragtig.

We have had a few serious incidents in the Van Riebeeckshof/Oude Westhof

area and I urge everyone to be very vigilant over the next few weeks. It is not

only the time to be merry, but also the time when burglars and criminals are

most active. We have notified our security service provider to instruct the guards

to be very strict and vigilant, and we urge you to assist them in their duty by

sticking to the rules. Make sure that if you have someone staying in your home

over the holidays, you have a reliable number for the guards to call when they

want to gain access to the estate. The guards are under strict orders not to open

the gates for anyone. Access can only be granted by the residents of the estate.

Message from the Chairman/Boodskap van die Voorsitter Last week there was a meeting of the Valley Committee on Majik Forest. The fence is complete and we now have

regular police patrols. The meeting was held to discuss ways we can work together to turn the park into a lovely,

safe and pristine place for the family to enjoy. There were quite a few proposals and we will forward the minutes of

the meeting to you when we receive it.

Die meeste van die trustees gaan gedurende Desember en vroeg Januarie weg wees met vakansie, maar die

Landgoedbestuurder (Gerrit van Zyl) of van die trustees sal altyd beskikbaar wees in ’n noodgeval. Maak seker dat u

die bure in kennis stel wanneer u met vakansie gaan, sodat hulle ’n ogie kan hou oor u huis en tuin.

We wish you a very blessed and peaceful festive season and trust that you will return rested and looking forward to

an amazing 2016.

Na 'n besige jaar sien ons almal daarna uit om uit te span en te herlaai, en dus is hierdie baie kort uitgawe van La Veritas Nuus bedoel om die jaar af te rond voordat ons 'n nuwe jaar met vele nuwe uitdagings binnegaan. The main purpose of this issue is to remind ourselves of the need to use the festive season to re-charge our batteries, physically and spiritually. Let us make full use of this period to do precisely that. And let us enter 2016 with a more caring and a more compassionate AND KINDER approach, not only in our workplaces but also in our homes and our estate! Sekuriteit/Security

We are nearing the busy time of the year, as far as visitors to our estate are concerned. With that in mind,

we would like to remind you about the security rules with regard to visitors. We also request that visitors

abide by the rules of La Veritas, not parking willy-nilly on the roads where it will interfere with the traffic.

We also request your assistance in keeping an eye on the properties of your neighbours when they are

not at home – considering what happened recently at one of the neighbouring estates next to Van

Riebeeckshof Road.

Ons het ook besluit dat ons tydelike permitte sal uitreik aan besoekers wat ’n paar dae hier sal vertoef,

sodat hulle nie nodig het om elke keer by die hek in te teken nie. Indien u hiervan gebruik wil maak, kan u

by Gerrit van Zyl, die Landgoedbestuurder (nommer 35), aansoek doen hiervoor. ’n Skyfie sal uitgereik

word, wat deur die besoeker aan die regterkant van die motor se voorruit aangebring moet word. Let

asseblief daarop dat dit aan die regterkant moet wees, om die wagte by die hek in staat te stel om dit

betyds raak te sien.
