M E S S A G E F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N TTime has flown by, and one year as the MATC President down. All in all, it’s been a fun time and I look forward to another. It has been through the work of us all together that makes the many tasks of our club doable. Thank you all for doing what you do, it is so appreciated! Many more changes will be facing our club in 2016. There will definitely be a transition period for our newly elected Secretary and Treasure, but with help from Terry and Harriet, it will be smooth. We welcome both Emily and Evelyn with open arms and look forward to their help within our club. Judy Fairbanks will be stepping down from her help with the newsletter in the coming year. Judy has done an awesome job keeping our club’s newsletter top notch. A big hug and thank you to her as she takes some much deserved time to travel and enjoy a little slower pace in life. Please email your newsletter submissions to me, as I will be working with Jennifer to keep our newsletter as informational as it has been in the past. I wish each and every one of you the very merriest Christmas ever and a happy New Year! —Pam

The meeting and banquet were held at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer. For Terry and I, the highlight of the meal was the baked scallops. Dale McConnell donated the John Deere pedal tractor he won from our annual tractor raffle back to the club. It was auctioned off at the end of the meeting. We received a nice Christmas card from Central Maine Septic. Did you ever see a porta potty encased in a snow globe? Next year it was suggested a youth under 18 could only pull 3 different tractors in the big tractor classes. The lawn & garden tractor pulling rules won’t be changed. Wesley Jordan is working on the blueprints for the covered pulling arena. Bob Hamlin decided not to accept the nomination for Board of Directors. He nominated Jay Fowler. It was decided to have the 2016 December meeting and banquet at Jeff’s Catering again. At the close of the meeting the quilt raffle was held. Winners were Matt Hunter, Joyce Nelson, and Bill Clark. Plaques were presented to the “Pullers of the Year.” T-shirts were presented to several members. The “Dick Larrivee Youth Award” was presented to Josiah Dillingham. A fun and lively auction followed. Door prizes were drawn.
This is my last column in the newsletter. It has been my pleasure being secretary for the last 19 years. The best part of my job has been meeting new members, getting to know them, and becoming friends. Terry & I are just retiring as secretary and treasurer, we are not retiring from the club. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
Respectfully submitted by Harriet Spencer, Secy. for the last time
