expanded METRONET network

required to replace the ageing A-series

Yanchep Rail Extension
• Alkimos Central is a new transit oriented city
centre scale development, situated on the coast
between Joondalup and Yanchep will be one of
the first stations built by METRONET on the
Yanchep line
• one of four interconnected developments in
Alkimos that have been masterplanned by
LandCorp in collaboration with government,
private sector and the community – and
progressed through the Planning and
Development Act 2005
• the local structure plan for Alkimos Central was
approved by the WAPC on 14th August 2018.

METRONET Precincts - Forrestfield
• Will become an important transit hub for eastern hills residents and south-eastern suburbs
• Opportunity to transform an area of underutilised land into a diverse, mixed-use centre
• The City of Kalamunda has prepared the Forrestfield North District Structure Plan
• Has released a draft local structure plan for the Forrestfield Residential Precinct east of the station
• The Metronet Office and LandCorp/MRA are assisting the City of Kalamunda with delivery of the draft local structure plan to ensure the METRONET station precincts are successful
METRONET Precincts - Redcliffe
• Redcliffe Station will be an underground station similar to Elizabeth Quay Station, and will provide the local community with a 15 minute journey to Perth CBD by rail
• The station is located in Development Area 6 (DA6) under the City of Belmont TPS, which has been earmarked for redevelopment as a residential and mixed-use precinct
• The City of Belmont has developed a Vision Plan for the area and is currently preparing a local structure plan to guide redevelopment. Once completed, the City has estimated that the new urban centre will include up to 3,500 new dwellings and an ultimate workforce of over 5,000 in the adjacent Airport Estate
METRONET Precincts - Bayswater
• FAL will tie in to the Midland Line at Bayswater, planning is underway on a new station that will transform the town centre and provide capacity for a future tie-in with the Morley-Ellenbrook Line
• The new Bayswater Station creates the opportunity to re-connect the town centre as a vibrant hub of activity, and address historic traffic management issues
• The METRONET Office is working with the City of Bayswater and local community to develop a design that will maximise public transport and land use benefits
• The City of Bayswater has prepared an Activity Centre Plan for the town centre and surrounding neighbourhood, which has been referred to the WAPC for determination
