MEYCO ® MP301 03/05/05 Low viscosity highly reactive hydrophilic grouting resin Product description MEYCO ® MP301 is a two-component low viscosity hydrophilic acrylic grouting resin with a high reactivity. The product may be used down to +3°C and contains neither solvents nor toxic components. Components A and B are mixed at the volume ratio A:B of 1:1, using a one component (using mix with long gel time) or two-component dosing pump. The gel time may be adjusted by varying the quantity of accelerator added to Component A and the concentration of Component B. Due to the hydrophilic nature of the product, the adhesion is also good to wet surfaces. There is no foam reaction that could negatively influence the substrate bond. Fields of application MEYCO ® MP301 has been developed specifically for use in tunnelling and for other underground and ground stabilisation works. To avoid long term shrinkage of the gel, it is important that MEYCO ® MP 301 remains in a humid environment. The product is designed for stabilisation of soil and heavily broken rock. Due to the very low viscosity and its low flow resistance, it is particularly well suited for the filling of micro cracks and capillary pores of soil. Pre-injection in finely fissured and broken rock Brittle failure risk reduction when excavating Stabilisation of soils containing sand and silt Stabilisation of broken rock Permanent sealing of underground concrete structures, such as tunnel linings and diaphragm walls Features and benefits Very low viscosity to maximise penetration Controlled gel time between 1 and 12 minutes Adjustable strength of gel Good bond to wet surfaces Flexible gel to accommodate movement of ground or structure (if remaining in humid environment) Workable between +3° and +40°C Environmentally friendly Packaging MEYCO ® MP301 is available as individual components: Component A: 20 kg can Accelerator: 1 kg can Hardener: 0.5 kg bag Also available in: Component A: 200 kg drum Accelerator: 20 kg can Hardener: 25 kg bag Technical data Property Form / colour Component A Liquid / transparent Accelerator for Comp. The gel time is controlled by the quantity of accelerator added. Component B is prepared by dissolving the hardener in potable water. The concentration of the hardener has also an effect on the gel time. Application The activated Component A and the dissolved Component B are injected in the required proportion by means of a two-component injection pump equipped with a static in-line mixing nozzle. For long gel times, a single component may be used.

  • Gel Time The gel time of MEYCO MP301 depends also on the temperature. Gel times in the field will, therefore, normally vary from those achieved in the laboratory. Compensation by adjusted concentration of accelerator and hardener should be executed based on local site conditions.

It is essential to undertake site tests before starting the injection work to verify setting times for specific conditions encountered Cleaning of equipment Equipment can easily be cleaned using water (preferably with a detergent). Storage In unopened, tightly closed original containers, the components of MEYCO MP301 may be stored for up to 12 months, if kept dry and within a temperature range of +10 to +30C. Protect from sunlight. Safety and environmental precautions Due to possible irritation, avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wearing of protective goggles and gloves is strictly recommended. If contact with skin occurs, wash thoroughly using soaps and water. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water for 15mins and seek medical advice. The cured MEYCO MP301 is physiologically harmless. Uncured MEYCO MP301 components must not be allowed to enter the local drainage system, rivers, lakes and ground water. Spillage must be treated with absorbent material (sand or sawdust) and disposed in the same way as containers containing residue of uncured material according to local regulation.
