1 Rationale
To provide a clear procedure around the process for the compilation and delivery of work packages to
students who do not have access to technology.
2 Aim
The aim of this policy is to outline the roles, responsibilities and resources required to ensure delivery of
work packages to students so there is minimal disruption to their learning when they are at a technological
disadvantage.
3 Preparation of Work Packages
3.1 Resources List of Students who require work packages sorted into Year Level with Subject Detail & Teacher
Information
SASS Staff who are rostered as per the Work Schedule
Photocopy Paper
Mailing Address Labels
Reply Paid Labels
Envelopes
3.2 Roles and Responsibilities
Appendix A must be used to identify the Student Work Package.
There are numerous ways in which the work packages process can occur. At this stage, faculties will be
determining the internal faculty process in order to meet the deadlines.
Another suggestion - Teachers of students requiring work packages are to email the work to the
nominated Faculty staff member on site each or directly to the assigned SASS member supporting the
faculty. If several weeks work is provided then frequency would adjust accordingly. The nominated staff
member would then print the work and deliver to the office with the cover sheet as provided in
Appendix A.
3.3 Documentation Required
Office has a list of students and their subjects and will print the required number of copies of the work
package.
A cover letter will be printed for each work package being sent home as per Appendix B.
Each student will have an envelope with their mailing address label.
1 x Reply Paid Envelope will be included in each package with a label on the back for the student to
complete with their name and year.
3.4 Process for Compilation
Jenny Halls will organise packages in the front office for collection,
Once copies of the work packages from each faculty are made they are put in the relevant student spot.
All Packages are written up in the Mail Register – The Distribution Spreadsheet is to be attached to the
Mail Register stating how these how been distributed.

Appendix B: Sample Cover Letter to include in Work Package
Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
Please find enclosed a Student Work Package from Mitchell High School. This student work package is being provided so that you can continue your education at home. The student work packages are similar to the online learning being accessed by your peers so you are not at a disadvantage. You will receive a student work package on a regular basis. For some subjects, student work packages will have one week of learning tasks, for other subjects, student work packages will have several weeks of learning tasks. It is important that you complete and submit your learning tasks. This is how your teachers will be assessing your learning. Students working in part time jobs or undertaking essential/important roles in families and the community. Students will not be penalised if they are unable do their school work during the day. We know that some of our students will have to go to jobs or support others. We understand that these are difficult times for families. Learning can occur anytime. Students might have a 4 hour shift and then start work on their learning tasks at 4pm. We just require the learning tasks to be completed and submitted within a reasonable time frame. Included in your first pack is a MHS Student Online Learning Handbook. Even though you might not be able to access technology at the moment, there may be times when you can. This handbook will assist you in those times. Once your work is received back at the school we will then pass it on to your relevant teacher for feedback. Once your teacher has reviewed your learning tasks they will:
Call you to provide you with feedback.
Provide written feedback on your learning tasks and mail it back to you.
All of the above!!! We are expecting that staff from the school will be making phone contact with some families. You may receive multiple calls throughout the week from various teachers and support staff. Yours sincerely, Ms E. Marinis Principal
