The Research and Production Company Micran is one of the leading companies in the field of developing and manufacturing super high and extremely high frequency radio electronics in Russia. The history of Micran started more than 20 years ago. Since that time the company has grown up from a team of 8 people to one of the leaders in the sphere of production of radio electronics equipment in Russia. Today our enterprise covers over 28000 square meters and employs more than 1500 people.

The most important competitive advantage of Micran is full production cycle with our own development and production from SHF electronic component base to serial pro-duction. This allows us to quickly respond to the market demands, to implement new innovative products, to control the process of creating a technology and implementing it in production as well as to monitor the products quality.

The company specializes in producing tele-communication equipment, SHF measuring and control equipment and SHF section ac-cessories, SHF microelectronics and radars for navigation and security protection.

The «Microelectronics» research and pro-duction complex produces GaAs and GaN monolithic microwave integrated circuits (SHF MIC), diode MIC and also discrete transistors and diodes. These products are used in the Micran telecommunication and measuring equipment as well as in the pro-duction of Russian and foreign electronic enterprises.

To provide the independent component base the company develops and produces monolithic integrated circuits with the 500 and 250 nm design on the basis of GaAs heterostructures. We are currently develop-ing the GaN MIC technology. Micran car-ries out a complete monolithic microwave integrated circuits production cycle, namely heterostructures design, technology engineering, MIC design, MIC production, MIC microwave testing and MIC reliability testing. The Design centre of the company develops microwave monolithic integrated circuits in the 1-100 GHz frequency range on the basis of its own models of active and passive elements.

The company is currently developing the technology of producing GaAs microwave monolithic integrated circuits on the basis of transistors with the gate length of 100 nm and 70 nm applied in the frequency range of up to 300 GHz.

In the near future Micran is planning to create new facilities covering 4200 m2 to produce monolithic integrated circuits and nitride gallium transistors.

Solid-state microwave electronics is one of the priority development areas, in which Micran has one of the best sets of compe-tencies and skills in the development and production of a wide range of single- and multifunctional microwave modules. The consistent development of this area goes along with the path of gradual products complexity and the transition from micro-wave modules to integrated devices and complexes.

The company has mastered the technolo-gy of engineering and mass production of the transmit-receive modules, made on the basis of company’s own electronic compo-nents, for active phased array antennas. Our company develops and manufactures microwave modules of L, S, C, X bands for ground, airborne and space-based radar stations. The company can boast its com-plex devices for microwave electronics which can take a worthy place in devel-opments: such as retransmit-receive and transmit-define modules for radar stations, as well as radars for river and sea safety

navigation and other purposes. The fol-lowing microwave devices have also been developed and manufactured: broadband and low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, converters, attenuators, filters and diplexers. The product quality is ensured by full technological cycle of the engineering, production, testing and the using modern measuring devices.

Micran is the biggest Russian manufacturer of wireless communications systems. The company currently produces a full range of equipment for digital radio relay com-munication systems MIC-RL and for broad-band wireless access WiMIC for all levels of telecommunications transport networks. Service Program «Master» effectively inte-grates these networks into a single control and monitoring system, regardless of their size, topology and geographic location.

Radio relay communication systems «MIC-RL», operating in the frequency band from 4 to 15 GHz, are on a level of the best world patterns, which allows customers to build the highly reliable transmission transport networks, based on Micran's equipment.

Radio relay communication systems farLink of the band 400 MHz, intended for com-munication in remote and difficult access areas, is unique with its functional and tech-nical characteristics.

Wireless broadband access equipment, de-veloped according to the recommendations IEEE 802.16-2004 WirelessMAN (WiMAX), enables to build high-performance wireless networks of multiservice traffic. For high-speed data networks Ethernet «Micran» offers a compact and cost-effective solu-tion – a packet relay station «Y-PACKET», enabling to transmit data at speeds up to 840 Mbit / s in the frequency band from 6 to 38 GHz and provide a wide range of network services.

One of the company's achievements in the field of radar-locating equipment is a radar-locating station «Reka», developed specially for river vessels. Innovative are every detail of the radar-locating stations: transistorized transmitter, digital signal processing on the board, radar-locating image transfer directly to Ethernet, touchscreen, modern interface for the captain.

The usage of a solid-state digital transmit-receive module with broadband signals, enables the radar to detect and identify with high accuracy even small objects (people, ice floe, buoy, etc.), regardless of the weather, and at the same to radiate only 1 Watt. The technical solutions implemented in the radar-locating station comply with international requirements.

Micran’s knowledge and experience in the field of radio-locating equipment helped to develop a whole line of radar-locating sensors with different operating frequency bands (X, K, Ka), which can be used to upgrade security systems, such as airfield control, perimeter guarding, organization of anti-terrorism and crime systems.

Radar-locating stations MRS-1000 and MRS-3000 provide primary scanning of the terri-tory with the help of microwave radio signals, the automatic target detection and tracking, both by means of their own capacities, and by means of cameras and other security sensors control.

The use of radar-locating stations reduces the number of required cameras and other secu-rity sensors, displays and support personnel; and reduces the time of zone scanning while increasing the probability of the invasion correct detention. Radar's positioning data and location mapping allow defining multiple complex security areas, setting priorities, and provides security scenario variety.

Technical characteristics of radar stations MRS-1000 and MRS-3000, under certain con-ditions allow detecting not only the land but also air objects (UAVs, low flying helicopters).

Micran is one of the leading Russian compa-nies in the sphere of microwave measuring equipment because of its talented team and own technological and production potential. «Micran» has developed and commercially manufactures control-measure equipment in the band up to 50 GHz.

Micran is constantly working to expand the devices functional capabilities by engineer-ing changes, as well as by new software options.

On the basis of commercially produced SHF modules the company has developed automated measuring systems, intended for the automated configuration and testing of microwave devices and systems of different purposes. In particular, the software and

hardware systems for measuring S-parame-ters of the transmit/receive modules, the plate measurements, antenna measure-ments. The system of the multi-channel load-ing and the monitoring of the board data-re-lay control and the guiding of spacecrafts «Luch-5A» and «Luch-5B» has already been developed and delivered to the customer. For each type of the complexes the compa-ny is developing the specialized software which is responsible for selecting measured value and easy data analysis, reporting and protocoling based on measurement results.

In 2015 Micran started to produce a series of portable measuring devices – Portable-LabDevices (PLD), whose power and control are carried out through USB- interface. With small overall dimensions PLDs have the com-pleted set of full-sized laboratory devices.

Micran has developed and serially produces a wide range of passive microwave ele-ments and devices in coaxial and waveguide paths both in metric and in inch version. All the products provide the required level of accuracy, reliability and other performances that affect the results of measurement in the frequency range up to 50 GHz. Microwave elements and devices of Micran are ideal for radar and satellite measurements, for wireless communication, for various works, connected with the development, testing and production of microwave devices. Sets and kits of various microwave elements are formed to solve calibration and verification problems. If necessary, these kits can be equipped with the information carrier with each kit element parameters.

The teams of the information measuring sys-tems department are continuously working on the expansion of the model range, the improvement of parameters and reliability characteristics of microwave elements due to the introduction of new technology at all stages of development and production.

Micran delivers its products to 50 countries of the world and is expanding sales geog-raphy every year. The company has sales offices in Singapore, Vietnam, South Africa, and is actively working to promote the products in the Middle East and the CIS.

In 2014 Micran opened a subsidiary com-pany called Youncta, which enabled the company to start deliveries to the Europe-an market. The company along with Italian developers is working on the production of telecommunications equipment, in particu-lar, there have been developed high-speed radio-relay lines (RRL), permitting to trans-mit the information at a speed 840 Mb/s. In 2016 Micran intends to double the RRL speed to nearly 2 Gb/s, on the basis of an extremely flexible platform.
