Dear IHM School Community,

We are exploring opening a second Pre K 3 classroom

for the 2020-2021 school year, since our class filled up

in one day.

This is a great problem to have, of course! We are

building a wait list of families who may have interest in

attending our school in September. If the interest is

there, we will open registration again for our PreK3.

If you have know of a potential family who may be in-

terested, please spread the word and have them reach

out to Traci Kovach [email protected] to sched-

ule a private tour and to be added to our interest list.

It’s hard to believe that Christmas Eve is just 11 days away!! We hope your holiday prepara-

tions are going well.

This weekend (12/13-15) the Five Below at Metroplex Shopping Center (on Chemical Road) is

hosting a fundraising shopping event for IHM. This is a great opportunity to get your pre-

sents, stocking stuffers, wrapping needs and more. 10% of purchases made by our group will be

donated to IHM. Please note, you must present the flyer (sent home with your students or

following this article) at the time of purchase.

We are heading into our final week for the Scratch Off Raffle. The winner will be drawn on

12/20 at the end of the Christmas Concert by Mr. Lowry. Please send in all cash and check or-

ders by 12/18 to give them time to reach us. All Venmo orders should be received by 12/19

at 6 p.m.

IHM Christmas Ornaments are on sale now. If you would like to receive an ornament before

the Christmas break, please be sure to submit your order before 12/18. The ornaments cost

$5 each and can be purchased using this Google form: Christmas Ornament Order Form (or

print out the form following this article).

On January 23rd, we are hosting a Camp Fair from 6:30pm-8pm in Father Sullivan Hall. We al-

ready have some great camps confirmed and we will have more confirmed in the coming days

and weeks. During the fair, we will host another Uniform Swap and have a quick Home and

School General meeting. We will share a list of confirmed camps and more details as the date

gets closer. Also, if there is a camp or organization you’d like us to include, please email home-

[email protected].

We have places two large boxes in the school for gently used uniform drop offs. We will host

our next swap as part of the 1/23 fair but if you would like to drop off uniforms now, there is

a box in Father Sullivan Hall and one by the 4th grade entrance.

This Christmas season, we’d like to recommend Santa's Favorite Story: Santa Tells the Story of the First Christmas by Hiska Aoki. Alison said, “I have fond memories of reading this story to my daughter around Christmas time. It is a sweet story.”

This week we are having a cookie recipe swap. Each board member has provided one of their

favorite cookie recipes. Mara shared Swedish Jam Cookies from AllRecipes.com. She said

this recipe is flexible, you can use whichever jam or nuts you choose. She also uses Truvia in

place of sugar: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/15039/swedish-jam-cookies/. Vegan

Lemon Sugar Cookies (https://www.thespruceeats.com/vegan-lemon-sugar-cookie-recipe-

3378218) are from Sabrina. Leigh Anne recommends these simple cookies that she fondly

refers to as Reindeer Poop: https://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/no-bake-cookies/. From Al-

ison we have Russian Tea Cookies: https://www.food.com/recipe/russian-tea-cakes-57011.

Christmas Bazaar Follow-ups:

If you or someone you know hasn’t gotten a Santa photo yet, please email us at fundrais-

[email protected] and let us know. If you remember your number, all the better to help

us find your picture quickly.

If you won a raffle basket and weren’t able to pick it up, the baskets are in the rectory. We

had several gift baskets picked up without the actual gift certificate in them. If you or

someone you know won the following baskets, please contact [email protected].
